He was one of the best-known stuntmen around and turned his hand to Directing such films as The Cannonball Run, Body Slam! and the classic that is Smokey and the Bandit.

RIP
The man pioneered bloopers over the end credits.. Which Jackie Chan went on to use in his films. Oh and Pixar do it too, sometimes.
Every film should have Bloopers over the end credits..

Rest in Peace.
He had a great run from Smokey and the Bandit culminating with Cannonball Run, its a shame though that his career declined shortly after, the guy had a lot of fun with his movies and was creative with his castings.

R.I.P Hal
Love the Cannonball Run films so, so much, watched them countless times when I was a kid (and still do this day), I have original posters for both framed in my house.

RIP, sir. Even though Cannonball Run has aged a bit, it's still a fun watch. And I keep enjoying Smokey more and more whenever I see it on TV.... RIP The man pioneered bloopers over the end credits.. Especially Schindler's List They could just show clips of people making out in the theaters while Schindlers List is playing instead

And I maintain that Body Slam wasn't that bad (sorry, R.D.). Used to love when it turned up on HBO.
