Remember the guy who was going to leave but they talked him into staying until about SummerSlam? Well it's clear that the show has changed a bit since he left.

Yeah, the quality of WWE programming went down dramatically after Eric Pankowski left.
I think Summerslam was his last work with the company.
Now he's the executive producer of Arsenio Hall's new talk show.

From what I understand, that guy had laid out all the storylines and planned them way in advance while sticking to strict rules in how relationships between superstars developed. Essentially writing the WWE as it were an actual soap opera and less frantic week-to-week writing.
Of course that style of writing could dramatically improve a lot of the issues with WWE's current style of storytelling, so of course that guy was driven out of the company.
That's what I recall.
