There are a lot of instances like this. I usually have a thing for the quirky best friend; the girl who gets the best punch-lines. Find a girl that gets you to let down your guard and bust a gut laughing, that's what I like Or the odd ones. Case in point, The Breakfast Club: Molly Ringwald was the princess, but I had a thing for Ally Sheedy.

I'm gonna go with some of the WWE divas in the past and present. The commentators act like they are goddesses when some of them looked all leathery or had man-ish or very blank faces. Meanwhile a lot of actual prettier divas were booked as "plain", "fat" or jealous of those divas looks. Well, I look back at the likes of Sable and Debra, and I can clearly say that they were never "all that," as stated in a past thread of mine.

Don't find AJ Lee the least bit attractive and her personality comes off as fake to me. I'm the demographic that she's trying to appeal to and I don't buy into her at all.
Penny from Big Bang Theory is attractive, but not at all the entity they make her out to be on that show.

I don't see the appeal of Emma Watson. You have made a powerful enemy.

Most of the Divas, especially AJ, Kaitlyn, and Kelly Kelly. What really bugs me is fans (on here and other places) always act like they are shinning pinnacles of beauty that make all other women look inferior.

Kristen Stewart is really attractive. I've never seen twilight, but she was really good in Take Me Home Tonight and didn't come off as "wooden" or a bad actress like people claim she is. I'm pretty sure she isn't in that movie. That's Teresa Palmer I believe

For instance: Kristen Stewart is not hot, and nobody will ever convince me otherwise. Even on a good day, she's average; and that's assuming she doesn't have that vacant look on her face, or the appearance of having just rolled out of bed. Now, I'm not going to bitch about Twilight, where she had two guys fighting over her despite having the personality of a cardboard box, but I am going to bitch about her being cast as Snow White while playing opposite of Charlize Theron, because suggesting that Stewart is more attractive than Theron is insulting enough, and to suggest that she is also 'The Fairest of Them All' is downright blasphemous. Kristen Stewart is good looking. But no one could have possibly lived up to the absurd fantasies of Stephanie Meyer. Stewart had no choice but to play the personality that Bella was written with, or in other words, no personality whatsoever. When given a good role, Kristen Stewart is an excellent actress. In regards to Snow White, Theron's character wasn't truly fair, but absorbed the life force of younger women to remain artifically pretty. That, along with Snow White's true royal blood, made her the fairest.

The saddest part is that Juliette Danielle, the actress playing her, is actually really cute in real life. I have no idea how they managed to uglify her so bad in their attempt to make her sexier.

Rachel Dawses in the Dark Knight. Woof. I don't think Maggie Gyllenhaal is by any means bad looking. There are times when I do think she is cute, actually, but looks-wise, I preferred Katie Holmes.

With a lot of these characters/actors/actresses, much of the time it's not just their looks and sometimes their charisma or story arcs that can enhance how someone might react to them. Mick Jagger, TBH, looked like a rubber lipped goon even back in the Gimme Shelter era, but his aura and it factor charmed the pants off of schoolgirls regardless. Likewise with SJP, it's probably Carrie Bradshaw a lot of fans are into, and it doesn't hurt how she doesn't look as "generically" pretty as the rest of the SatC cast (or I suppose, I was never a fan of the show).
In a lesser example, if you look at ET straight up, he's basically, to quote Seanbaby, "a shriveled up space turtle's penis"- but after watching his story and getting caught up in how kind and gentle he is, it's understandable to see how some people might find him cute in spite of that.
And screw Lola and Minerva. I went furry for Princess Sally years ago.

CHARACTERS. Right?
Ok - 500 Days of Summer
Zooey Daschanel I find attractive enough, but the narrator in 500 Days of Summer at the beginning was trying to paint her character as this "perfect" girl and I wasn't buying it. I think some of it had to do with wardrobe and make up, but I didn't see what JGL's character saw in her. The girl at the end on the other hand...

Mary Ann was infinitely hotter than Ginger, though Ginger wasn't unattractive by any means.
