What are some examples of deceptive dvd cover art you've seen? Yesterday i checked out a film on netflix called "Croczilla". It had a giant crocodile destroying buildings on the cover, so i thought it would be some cheesy fun. Turns out its an Asian film about a giant crocodile thats more or less a family comedy (outside of a few f-bombs, even the croc eating people scenes arent graphic at all) with REALLY bad dubbing straight out of a Bruce Le film (thats not a misspelling btw).

Ah, the Twilight method. The Buffy movie is finally out on Blu-Ray. I can see why it would be deceptive, especially trying to compare the TV show to the movie, which was by no means serious.

Chinese Breaking Bad Bootleg that's been hitting the Tumblrs Seriously, are Chinese bootleggers just pranking their customers at this point? Why would you advertise a gritty and violent show about drug making and dealing as a wacky family comedy? Not to mention anyone buying this would obviously know what they're looking for so what's the point?

It was created as a joke when DISH tried to drop AMC

This movie pissed me off sooooooo much! {Spoiler}Ryan Gosling's character, front and center on the poster and getting top billing is killed off within the first half hour of the movie

{Spoiler}Going into this movie, I thought it'd feature Pinhead the same way Halloween features Michael Myers or Friday the 13th features Jason Voorhees. Instead, what I got was a story about a dude who needed to put his body back together and Pinhead and the other Cenobites show up a couple times way later in the movie.
Still a good show, but wow was I expecting more Pinhead.

There are a million versions of Little Shop of Horrors on dvd and vhs, since its public domain, and 90% of them advertise that the star is Jack Nicholson, who (if you haven't seen it) is in one scene.

The original poster for Hong Kong action/scifi flick Twins Effect. Called "Twins" since that is the name of the pop group the two lead girls are collectively known as. When it was released outside of Hong Kong, it was renamed Vampire Effect, and has Jackie Chan pasted on the cover. Despite the fact that he only appears in two five minute cameos toward the beginning and middle.

They do the same thing with John Candy's first film, It Was a Good Idea at the Time. Candy had a small part as a cop, but all the dvd covers portray him as the star (usually using pictures of John from the late 80s/early 90s).

This is horrible. This was a made for TV movie/after school special (in Canada I think) called Introducing...Janet. The cover art (and renamed title) make it seem like a starring vehicle for Jim Carrey doing funny characters like Ace Ventura or The Mask.
