It seems that almost every major city has it's own signature food. What's yours, and where's the best place to get it? I started this because I just moved back to Philly a few months ago after six years on the west coast. And, Goddamn, am I eating the f*** out of Philly cheesesteaks. It's weird, cuz before I left, I barely ever are them, and on top of that, it's more or less the only time I eat cheese at all. I guess absence does make the heart grow fonder. Anyway, the classic spots for a Philly Cheesesteak are Pat's and Geno's. And they're good, if overpriced. Especially when you're drunk at 3am. But lately I've been hitting up Tony Luke's on Front and Oregon, and this small ass take out spot called The Pizza Shack at 15the and Porter. Pizza Shack is awesome cuz it's literally around the corner from me, and I can get a footling Steak, Fries, and a soda for 7 bucks. So, FAN, sound off!! What is your town known for and where should we go if we're ever in town?

I'm gonna go with Tim Horton's. Since you could throw a rock at one at hit the other and I'm not being sarcastic, factitious, or using hyperbole. It's true.

I've heard a lot about them thanks to Canadian wrestlers and How I Met Your Mother. I've heard their coffee is amazing. But aside from that, if I were to walk into a Tim Horton's what is the one thing you would say I should order?

You win this round, Canadian. The secret is, it really isn't that good. They have coffee, latte, sandwiches, ice cream, some kind of "lasagna", chilli, soup, doughnuts, panni, knockoffs of everything McDonald's makes, f***ing frozen drinks, "fresh" smoothies from a box, iced coffee......too much shit. I just want my coffee and to leave.

Sloppers. Hamburgers covered in green chili, like this. I don't do green chili so I've never had one, but people lose their minds over them here.

Edmonton literally has more donair shops then anywhere in North America I swear. Every time a NHL player leaves the Oilers the press conference always has the lines "I'm going to miss the donairs." Former Oiler players returning to Edmonton for the first time first thing he says "My coach is going to kill me for doing this but I had to have a donair before the game." Visiting team visits Edmonton "Excuse me reporters but whats the best donair shop in town? Any Edmontonians that follow me please tweet me the best donair shop in town."
-High Voltage at 10387 63 Ave is like the most expensive one but it has the most selection of donairs you can get from regular beef to bison meat and such.
-Swiss Donair at 8308 144 Ave is extremely popular and one of the few good things or anything to do in that town. It's alright and priced reasonably.
-Top Donair at 10137 50 St was the donair shop I visited the most since I lived in that area for a long time and it was a 5 min walk for me. The best days was when it first opened and it was like opened till 4am every day. I'm glad it's getting really successful with normal hours now because those owners would work from 10am to 4am every day. Service is excellent they remember everyone's face and the conversation you had with them even if it's your second time visiting them after one year.
-Queen Donair at 6230 99 Street has some of the best donair Shish Kabobs I ever had. Service is great and the guy who runs it son is extremely nice and seems to have a photographic memory. It's also right by The Union my favorite nightclub in town so it's really great when you're drunk and so hungry!

Anna's Steaks in Folsom PA, just off the corner of Rte 420 and Macdade Blvd. Best steaks in the Delaware Valley! There's also a good little shack underneath Fat Tuesday's on South Street. Then get yourself a soft pretzel to wash it down!!!

I come back and South St is a shithole. P.S. Thank you

St. Louis has the Gerber sandwiches that started in Ruma's Deli, toasted ravioli, gooey butter cakes and the Crown Candy Kitchen, among other things.

I live in New Mexico currently (Have for a couple of years), so anything green chile-related would be the hometown dish: That said, I wish I lived some place with a cooler hometown dish -- like Chicago-style pizza or New York-style pizza or Tennessee barbecue or Minnesota with those Juicy Lucys.

Tampa, Florida (hometown): It has to be the Cuban sandwich. And for the best, try Aguila's on West Hillsborough Avenue or Mauricio Faedo's on Florida Avenue near I-275. Both are critically acclaimed, and for good reason.
Bismarck, North Dakota (current city): Fleischkuechle. It's the one dish I've only seen in North Dakota. It's a classic German deep-fried pastry stuffed with meat, typically hamburger. The place to get it is Kroll's Diner. There are two in Bismarck, but the best one is across the Memorial Bridge in Mandan.

Well, nearest city is Liverpool, so I suppose it's either Scouse (The food), or Carlsberg.
