Pretty much all I read all summer long was how much Man of Steel sucked. I'm watching it right now and I see absolutley no problem with it. The story is good, the acting great, and the effects are just awesome. And the fight scenes look straight out of a Superman comic. So yeah, screw you internet, this movie rules.

My only issue with it was the pacing seemed weird in some way. But overall I enjoyed it, not the greatest movie, but worth the watch.

The only good parts of that movie were Faora, because she is a babe, and the tornado part because it made me laugh.

Aw man. f*** this movie.
I watched this thing in a drive in theater, with this girl who liked me and asked me out, with her dad in front of us. So basically a date, without the prospect of getting any. It didn't help that she fell asleep like ten minutes into the movie, and the thing ran late anyways. So, it was like one in the morning, I was half asleep, my date was out, and this thing dragged on and on. When I thought it was a reasonable ending point, random shit kept on extending this thing to the point where I was dying to just have it end already. Plus, the girl turned out to be an emotionally unstable headcase who would literally latch on to anyone who showed her attention, so the movie makes me think of that every time I think about it.

I enjoyed it a lot but it suffered from "Peter Jackson Syndrome" which is when a movie feels like it has concluded but keeps going and keeps escalating, finally by the time it ends you are exhausted from all the false climaxes. This movie could have ended in Smallville. But the stakes had to keep getting so high that by the time you are done, what can a sequel do? It can add Batman, that was about it, other than going to space.

It's certainly an interesting movie.
I've never seen a movie do so much while not doing anything at all.

The movie was full of lousy smaller parts -- the horribly destructive battle scenes (Causing casualties in the thousands seems very un-Superman-like to me) and Micheal Shannon's corny acting -- but overall, it was OK. I just wish superhero movies nowadays were less generic; the patterns of all of them are so similar that the blueprints are very obvious.

It's my favorite super hero movie of the year.

There were a few things I'd have done differently- it could have used more scenes of Superman rescuing random people, so I'd have had Zod maybe drop down only one World Engine and have Supes deal with that while grabbing people out of the sky, just for more "iconic" imagery. And Pa Kent could have been less of a callous douche. But aside from those two things, I enjoyed the heck out of it.

I don't consider it bad or good. Infact, it's the most average super hero movie I've ever seen.

Until this thread, i forgot I even saw it.
Maybe I was just mad that I paid for the 3D and they barely used it at all.

I liked Superman Returns better. SR had that awesome plane scene, there's not really any scene in MoS that I could point out as being incredible. I'll still watch SR just so I can see that again, I doubt I'll watch MoS again.
And there's a part of me that just thinks Superman's origin story shouldn't be told anymore. I get that every movie is someone's first, but to be honest, it's not the most interesting origin story and trying to make it apolitical struggle between deadpan and overactor doesn't really add more intrigue to it.

I liked it
I can't help but feel that some people will always complain as people bitched how Superman did f*** all but mope around and stalk Lois Lane in Superman returns and wanted more action.... But are still complaining when they got their wish.

Well you're entitled to your opinion but your opinion makes it harder for me to pretend that movie never happened.

I liked I can't help but feel that some people will always complain as people bitched how Superman did f*** all but mope around and stalk Lois Lane in Superman returns and wanted more action.... But are still complaining when they got their wish. Honestly, I didn't think the MoS action was that good, the fight scenes, while they do make sense, really have about as much complexity as the fight scenes in the Hulk movies (ie: none). There's nothing wrong with brawling scenes if they're not long, but they were really long in MOS. My favorite parts of superhero movies tend to be them being superheroes, going out of their way to rescue others. The fight scenes in MoS are really about as interesting as the fight scenes in a Hulk movie to me. Non-stop And while there are always people will criticize any movie, I really do hate it when people argue as though any criticism is just the case of people not being satisfied. Often, it's people taking different complaints from different people and acting as though anyone who disagrees is just impossible to satisfy. Even when it is the same people, you still have situations where the final product just wasn't really that good, even if it has more action. Not all action scenes are good.

I really liked that movie where Superman stood around while people hurled exposition at him about how he's space Jesus. People thought The Dark Knight was heavy handed, this movie just uses it's message like a club and tries to beat you to death with it. Other than that it was actually an okay movie, and I didn't mind how the Zod fight ended, since it's the most personality Superman is allowed to show in the entire movie.
It's unbelievable how hot Faora was. I was sad when Elliot killed her.

I thought it was frustrating to watch.
Lois Lane being interchangeable and forgettable. Martha Kent's influence on Clark not being nearly the factor of his father's but his stingy-ass father getting one of the sillier movie deaths I've seen in a superhero movie.
Superman's seemingly wanton destruction considering he was established having a people-saving thing. The dull, lifeless script.
It was really pretty. Really action-y but it wasn't much else.

I liked it
I think the s***fest that was Iron Man 3 made me kinder to its more irritating parts (and it did have irritating parts)

It was good, though the weakest of the superhero movies I've seen this year (Iron Man 3 and Thor: TDW were far more polished in comparison, not to mention the former's twist was fresher than just about anything MOS did).
