There are plans of doing Orton/Punk at Mania, and people talk about how it is a fued already done to death. But I think that one of the focal points of the fued is how Punk has had several accomplishments in his career but he has never beaten WWE's golden boy Randy Orton before. It would be a good Mania moment for Punk and a good way to wrap up the Nu-corp storyline..... Until hopefully Cena turns heel

Still seen it a billion times, and it's never exactly been remarkable. Plus, really with the way it's been built it makes zero sense for anyone except for Bryan to be the one to bring him down at this point... so yeah, Punk will probably do it.

Just isn't exciting. Better to flash quick text "Punk beat Orton btw" and we can just take their word for it and watch something better.

Didn't he beat him in some multi-man match?
And yes...that counts.

Didn't he beat him in some multi-man match? And yes...that counts. Yup. Beat him in the elimination chamber match, before losing to Cena, for the right to face Miz at Mania 27.

Apparently Punk beat Orton by DQ on the 11/3/2008 episode of Raw. Totally counts.

Has he beat him with short hair though? probably not.
Or what about with pork chop sideburns?

Also, how is this "done to death" when they had about two (in my opinion very good) PPV matches in 2011?

Also, how is this "done to death" when they had about two (in my opinion very good) PPV matches in 2011? Dolph and Kofi haven't exactly had a bad match, to my recollection. Yeah, Punk and Orton aren't bad, but hardly exceptional in a way that I'd be excited about them main eventing WrestleMania.

If that main event's 'Mania then it will just have to be better than Miz/Cena, Cena/Rock and Cena/Rock II. Yeah, Punk/Orton would be a massive step-up.

Three things this guarantees:
1. 'I can fly' 2. 'RANDALL!' 3. Another Orton wife.

I think he pinned him in that 4 way to face Taker at Mania earlier this year but he hasn't beaten him in a one on one match on PPV so would still make a good story. I would much rather see Orton vs. Punk right now than Orton vs. Show.

Punk's got plenty of more meaningful accomplishments already. Orton should just be thankful Trips lets him be his belt bitch at this point.

It should be Bryan beating Orton at 'Mania. It's the logical choice given the storyline. But when does WWE go with the choice that makes sense?
It will probably be Show vs Orton at 'Mania with Bryan in a throwaway midcard match.
