I've gotta get a new TV and I am thinking about get one with 3D capabilities, but I've never known anyone that actually had one, and the demo one at the local Best Buy never seems to be working.
I was just wondering if it is worth getting. I like seeing movies as they were originally intended and I'd like to see Life of Pi in 3D after only seeing the 2D version in theaters. Does anything broadcast on TV in 3D anymore? I don't really hear about it like I did a few years ago.
I just wanna know what's your experience is with 3D TVs.

You'll pay extra money for a feature you'll barely use.
That's my experience anyhow...

Been wndering this myself. I would buy every available 3d blu ray. I am a huge fan of modern 3d and have not seen many films since Avatar in 3d. Plus I really want to experience avatar in that format once again. I know a lot of cable have already stopped broadcasting, but these 3d tvs should still be pretty good 1080 p big screens tvs. So yeah been wondering if its worth getting one.

I have a 32" LG 3D TV in my bedroom and I love it. It has a perfect picture with non-3D stuff as well. My cable system (and likely most others) has no 3D broadcasts, so you're pretty much limited to 3d Blu Ray. Netflix has some 3D titles but you need a very high-speed internet connection and a compatible device (PS3 or certain LG TV models) for it to work. I highly recommend 3D HDTV but YMMV.

I bought a 3D tv.
My roommates use it for Call of Duty 3D. I use it for Mortal Kombat, MLB The Show 13, and a few other games in 3D.
Netflix has a FEW 3D movies you can watch.
I have a few 3D Blu Ray movies (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Brave, Up, Avengers, a roommate bought Top Gun in 3D)
For that, it's worth it to me, as I bought the last of its kind in stock from Amazon before the new model came out, so I got it for a little bit cheaper than a non-3D tv (about $795 for a Vizio).
Most of the time, it's used for non-3D purposes, though.

I've had a 3D TV for a couple months now, and it's nice from time to time, but it's not something I use regularly. The TV was on sale, so it was only like $30 more then the 2D one, otherwise odds are I wouldn't have bought it.

I do have a 3D TV, but I don't think I've used the 3D capabilities seriously since I've had it.

I saw Avatar playing on a 3D Projector in Future Shop years ago. It was like watching in the theatre.

I have one and if you do end up buying one, definitely go the LG route because they use the same glasses as the movie theater (no batteries) but mine came with better looking ones. Wait until Feb to buy.
As for my 3D experience, I use it on occasion for movies but I never buy movies at full price. I use blu-ray.com and whenever there's a deal on a 3D movie I've wanted, I'll get it then. With that said, I mostly watch 2D because I wait for deals. Comcast has a few 3D channels and I've watched football but the camera angles different and was hard for me to get used to the 2 or 3 games I watched in 3D. Disney animated movies look phenomenal.
I have 47" LG 1080p 120 hz 3D. Taxes returns plus a deal where it came with surround sound and extra 3D glasses was totally worth it.

^^^^ Sounds identical to mine. Yours have smart features? I never use mine, PC is hooked up to my home theatre.
Mine also came with a really stupid f***ing remote, it's like the size of a computer mouse, is a motion remote, has a scroll wheel and is generally inconvenient as all hell. The only real beef I have with the TV.

The only real beef I have with the TV. I have the weird controller in box lol but I don't use the smart features on it since I use an xbox 360 for Netflix and Hulu. I never could figure out how to connect my Mac to it all either so I normally use headphones.
