Games that are outside your usual genre I mean. I had 3 friends over today to ironman Super Mario 3d world. *I was Toad* and had a female friend with me who only plays fighting and sports games. Good too, but she could not for the life her make Luigi run and jump at the same time. We would make it to a gap, and she would just run her character to death,Or stop running and do a slow awkward walking jump to her death. Then their is folk like my brother that loves platformers and shooters and can barely do Hadouken. How easy is it for you to jump into a new game.

There are a couple of genres I'm good at, such as platformers and shooters. I can stop playing those for months, come back to them, and still be good at them. When it comes to a fighting game, I spend countless hours/days/weeks getting good at it. If I stop playing that game for longer than a week, I pretty much have to start from scratch.
And it's very difficult for me to get into racing games. Period.

I can usually get into a new genre well enough, but I have a really hard time adjusting from one game to another within the same genre. I've been getting into Metro 2033 this past month because it was on sale on Steam and now I can't play Team Fortress 2 anymore because when I see a first person interface with a gun my mind goes back into the Metro "advance carefully, conserve ammo, double-check everything" mindset, which makes me a sitting duck in a faster paced multiplayer game like TF2.

Same, for the most part. I remember being into Metal Gear Solid and then trying out Splinter Cell because they're both stealth based games. Needless to say, the strategy doesn't cross over.

I suck at everything.
Basically, if you play against me... you lose the privilege to bitch me out if I'm the reason our team loses, because you knew that would happen going into it.
And no, I'm never going to get better than I am so.... y'know, come to peace with it.

I'm pretty good at FPS' if I play them for long enough. I used to be a f***ing god warrior at Resistance 2, but I took an extended break from it and found myself nowhere near as good as I once was.

Im pretty crap at games, despite playing them for all my life. Terrible with fighters. The worst game that iv never even been close to understanding how to play is resonance of fate, the battle system is impossible to get used to .

I'm pretty good at everything at this juncture, apart from some sports games, but that's more due to not understanding the rules IRL compared to the way the game functions.

It's a complicated battle system, but it's really fun once you finally figure it out. Shame the story wasn't interesting enough for me to continue.

I'm fairly jack of all trades when it comes to video games. The only ones I might struggle on are something like Sim City (That's usually because I get bored of it before I have even mastered the art of building a competent road structure ) Otherwise it's usually plain sailing for the basics, years of experience.

I'm at least decent in everything except 2D platformers.
For example, I love Donkey Kong Country Returns. However, I'm pure shit at it because for whatever reason, I can't wrap my mind around the timing for some of the very close jumps or going from vine to vine. I'm great at DK 64 and Super Mario Galaxy type games but DKC and even something like Super Mario Bros Wii gives me fits.
Don't even get me started on Rayman Origins or Legends. I don't what the f*** is going on with me on those games.

Usually, but some shooters I need to take time to adjust myself to. Though that may be because I haven't been playing that type of game as long as others.
