just seeing pictures of the wreck you can tell that they were burnt. like Death to Analog said, hopefully it was the impact that killed them.
such a good looking guy and never heard a bad thing about him. mom and i were talking about him last night while all this was apparently going on.
RIP

Yeah, that's what I figured. They didn't look like deadly car crash injuries, especially since like you said the bodies would have suffered severe burns. All I can say is I hope the causes of death were due to the impact, because burning to death is a really horrific way to go. Even if it was burns, there is no way they were conscious for that

The article says that they were unable to get out of the car after the crash, so I'm guessing they felt the burning.

I've always dug Walker. While never did get out of the Fast and Furious fame, he did try a couple of films outside of it, and I did wish that he also would appear in a notable comedy, but sadly, it won't ever happen now. Personally, it's probably for the best to cancel the 7th movie of the series at this rate, even if it sort of ended on a cliff-hanger. {Spoiler}While it does end with the appearance of Jason Statham, before that, the main crew all have a dinner together that just solidifies the ending to the whole Fast and Furious saga. Letty is now back, O'Connor is a Dad, not to mention the whole "family" angle, which, considering they're anti-heroes, is a little odd, but you can tell they're trying with notable sympathy. Unfortunately, it also makes the whole hindsight even more sad.

What time did the crash happen? Nobody saw it before the fire started? Him and the driver were trapped inside, unconscious. the more I read, the sadder it is. Looking at the scene photos of the car on fire the driver's side looks pretty smashed in and the passenger's side looks to be where the brunt of the impact was taken, so it seems likely they may have both been dead before the fire started. Or, as I said before, I hope they were.

Smoke inhalation would've probably killed them before the burns woulda; if that's consolation at all.
For Fast 7, they could pretty easily have some dialogue about O'Connor being a father and retiring and such. Might seem a bit callous, but it wouldn't be that hard to write him out.

I find it weird how this really resembles Han's death in Tokyo Drift

Smoke inhalation would've probably killed them before the burns woulda; if that's consolation at all. The gas tank is practically right behind to the driver and passenger seats, so I very much doubt there would be enough time for them to asphyxiate before the fire was on top of them - and consider that it's a super car and the only things of any size that are really flammable in them are the seats and the people sitting in them. It would make sense. The franchise will continue - a little death never stopped Hollywood making money - and they will no doubt have the Ledger effect boosting ticket sales when it's released. Rock's schedule is much clearer than anticipated, so the Hobbs character will probably get an expanded part as the co-lead protagonist.

If there a definition of an ironic death, this would be a prime example.
Such a shame, especially considering he was doing charity work just prior. Also, he seemed like such a laid back guy. Never let the idea of being a celebrity get to his head.
RIP
Also, there's apparently a video that was shot just after the crash floating around, but I'm not gonna link it.
