It's rather tricky, especially throughout the mid-2000s, were PPV had theme songs that didn't really fit much other than the intensity of the music.
Any ones you thought was rather fitting somewhat, weather it was lyrically or not?

Survivor Series 2001. "Control" by Puddle of Mudd. The main event was for control of the WWF.
Summerslam 2002. "Fight" by WWE in-house production. Several personal feuds, with HHH vs. HBK and Rock vs. Brock.
Most of the modern-day PPV themes don't make any sense. Survivor Series 2013 uses a song by Flo-Rida, yet The Wyatt Family is on the poster. At least a rock song, maybe like the theme they use would be fitting.

Royal Rumble '99 had the first use of "No Chance in Hell", and I felt it was rather fitting mainly due to the main thread of Vince stacking the deck against Austin in the Rumble.

The instrumental Night of Champions theme they used in 2011 and was also briefly DB's theme was epic. I wish they'd go with more instrumental themes still.

And while we're at it with other Royal Rumble PPVs, there's Kid Rock's "Cocky", from 2002, which is rather self-explanatory in terms of the main event. As well as Puddle Of Mudd's "Nothing Left To Lose" from 2004 and Switchfoot's "Dark Horses" from 2012.

Over the Limit 2012: "War of Change"
"Everything's about to change..."
As in, Laurinaitis is about to be removed from power. Of course, the change we got was that of a certain Giant's change of heart.
Extreme Rules 2011: "Justice"
"I want justice, I want you overthrown..."
As in, the Miz being dethroned of his WWE championship.
Bragging Rights 2010: "It's Your Last Shot"
"It's your last shot, it's your last shot..."
Undertaker's last ever World Title match happened that night.

WrestleMania X7's "My Way or the Highway", which perfectly fit the Austin/Rock title match, especially Stone Cold's desire to win the WWF Title, which would of course lead him to joining up with Vince to do so.

I thought "Big Time" was so great as WrestleMania's theme that it should be used every year.

"You're Going Down" by Sick Puppies for Extreme Rules '09
"It's been a long time coming, and the table's turned around. 'Cause one of us is going, one of us is going down."
The final chapter of Edge and Jeff Hardy's rivalry. After helping change the foundation of the tag team division, the two of them rose to the top of the company, setting the stage for one final Ladder match for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Spoilin' for a Fight by AC/DC surely must have fitted whatever PPV it was at the time. Cole would just say it over and over and over again.

Capitol for Capitol Punishment and the theme they used for Royal Rumble '06 were phenomenal too. As for well picked outside themes, 2011 and 2012 were better years for those, namely Just Another War for TLC with the big storyline being the war between RyBack and Hell No versus CM Punk and the SHIELD. 2013, not so good a year for themes at all...

Definitely "Big Time" for WM
I also liked "Deadly Game" for Survivor Series 98 and "The End is Near" for Armageddon

Definitely "Big Time" for WM 'Mania 22 might be my favorite use of 2 songs. I loved "I Dare You" by Shinedown being coupled with "Big Time." "I Dare You" tied together history with the current, and "Big Time" gave the feel of what WWE presents WrestleMania as.

Rant: I HATE modern day WWE PPV themes. They've just completely inconsequential to anything and shows just how little thought goes into the events themselves.

The proto Butterbean/Ezekiel Jackson theme they used for Over The Edge 1998 I think was a perfect fit.
