What are some movies that you have seen that you didn't realize were based on comic books until after seeing them? I can think of a few. Here's my list: -Wanted -Kick-Ass -2 Guns
There are some that I found out were based on comics before seeing them, though I have still yet to read them, or read them fully: -Red -Bullet To The Head
Some guy I knew didn't know that "Surrogates" was based on a comic book.
What are your examples?

I didn't know Bullet to the Head and Surrogates were comic-based til your post.
The only other one I can think of is The Road to Perdition.

"I didn't know Men in Black was based on a comic book. Although it is a rather loose adaptation...

I will be honest about this: "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World." I read that prior to when I first saw it in theaters that it was based on a comic series, but I didn't know about it until around the time it came out. I also noticed that it wasn't your typical comic series as it was a series of manga books, not a series of regular comic books before being made into a trade paperback.

That one was a major surprise for me. It took me quite a while for me to finally realize that "The Mask" was based on a comic book. Here's another for me: Also, though I have still yet to watch it fully:

Technically, Red Sonja. The movie and comic book Red Sonja is kind of a different character from Robert E. Howard's Red Sonya (whose story took place during the Renaissance).

For the longest time, Duck Tales: The Movie. I had no idea that Scrooge McDuck was a famous and incredibly well-written comic book character before he was ever really featured or fleshed out in Ducktales.

Blade. To be honest, I don't recall this ever being advertised as a comic book film at all and instead just emphasised Wesley Snipes killing Vampires.
