I love how WWE shows contempt for their fanbase. They must really be proud of themselves I'm not saying anyone who complains is right, but if I were running a company, I would ALWAYS treat my fans with respect, even if they're criticizing the product. Oh, but everybody does it, right? They open Star Trek conventions by openly mocking anyone who shows up in a uniform or who is speaking Klingon. I get the mindset is "We have their money, so we don't need them". Problem is, the demographic that their advertisers and the networks pay attention to are a good 70 percent of the portion of the fanbase they mock openly. Viewership goes down, ratings go down, buyrates go down for four months in a row, if I'm looking at probabilities, connections wouldn't be hard to draw.

Also did the WWE actually make this or did Hot Topic make it with the WWE licence?

Fair play to WWE, that's a good burn.

This seems unnecessarily pejorative. This. When WWE isn't acting embarrassed by its fandom, it's openly contemptuous of it.

It should say on the back "And you can follow us on Twitter #WWEUniverse! Also, don't forget to check out wwe.com or leave us a tout!"

That is so lame, and not even in the it's so sad it's funny way. I'd actually feel sorry for anyone who buys that.

It's just a shirt. Sold at Hot Topic, no less. Don't take it so serious.
I got a nice chuckle out of it.

This seems unnecessarily pejorative. Yeah, to the point where no one would actually buy it/wear it. Who wants to pay a company to mock them, and then mock themselves by wearing the shirt? People can be self deprecating in their humor, WWE included.

People can be self deprecating in their humor, WWE included. I'm a pretty self-depreacting person, I get that. The "We Hate Cena" shirts made more sense to me, WWE was cashing in on the hate but it was still the fan expressing something towards a performer. But the thought process behind this shirt strikes me as "I buy a $30 t-shirt to represent the fact that I watch a company that does something I hate over and over and I'll never do anything about it and in fact keep handing them more money", it goes a little past self-deprecating and into defeatist. I just can't see it selling well at all. I likes my self-deprecation free, because I'm cheap and poor.

it's funny how some people got easily offended here I'm not even offended, as much as I'm confused by WWE doing this. Again, I see no reason why WWE should market a shirt where it insults it's fanbase. Even if the shirt said "Only little children like John Cena", I would still question the point of wasting the effort to market that statement.

He likes to f*** with the people that are loyal to him. See Jim Ross, Howard Finkel. Now it's extending to loyal fans who bitch about things they don't like but still watch. This shirt will not make them money, or new fans. It only has the potential to push people away. Like you said, I'm not offended, it just makes no sense.
