Can anyone actually do this? I see it done on tv but I can't get a good enough grip to pull it off. Do I just have girl hands or something? Tell it to me straight FAN.

For starters you have to make sure it's a twist top bottle

I used to open them with my teeth. Then I cracked a tooth. Idiotic really.

I do already with twist-offs but I've never seen anyone open a normal bottle cap like on TV. Most people use their lighters or key rings.

Pretty much 95% of the beer I drink doesn't have a twist-off bottle cap. But when I'm drinking something like a Yuengling, I always use my shirt to twist it off, because I'm a wuss.

I used to open them with my teeth. Then I cracked a tooth. Idiotic really. I had a friend do the exact same thing. Put me off any ideas of trying it myself! Anyway, I was quite proud of myself when I first was able to open a can one handed without dropping it or spilling it, never tried opening a bottle with my hands though. Usually have an opener/knife somewhere.

I have had an opener on my keychain for the past 25 years just so I don't have to rip my hand open on a beer bottle.

It gets easier if you have a calloused spot on your hand where the palm won't be hurt.

Most of the beer that I drink isn't twist top so I'll use a bottle opener however in those others times I'll kitchen towel or my t shirt to open them.

For non-twist off bottles I use the edge of the kitchen cabinet if there's not a bottle opener around. Otherwise I use my shirt like a pussy.

I use the opposite end of my old school can opener. I shouldn't have done it yesterday when I mix ice cream and beer.
