A few questions
1) Whats your ring gear, like what do you wear in the ring. 2) Height/Weight 3) How long were your training (not wrestling training) before you started doing the actual wrestling training 4) How long did it take you to pick up the whole "call the match as you go"? 5) How did your first match go? 6) What do you think is your best match? 7) What do you do once you get trained, like how do you go about getting booked at other places?
Hopefully a couple answer these...
...oh BTW do any of yall have pics of yourself in the ring?

Former wrestler here. 1) I started off in just jeans, sneakers, elbow pads, and a weighted shirt. I eventually went to tights or else some of the type of pants that Sabu wears, but not sparkly. I wore kickguards, kneepads, and elbow pads then as well. Sometimes bracers too. For a short time I had a half-mask too. 2) I think I was 5'10" and about 150lbs, my weight fluctuated ~10lbs above and below that while I wrestled. 3) Not sure what you mean by 'training' if not 'wrestling training'. 4) It really didn't take me too long. Beforehand we'd get together and discuss certain spots that we each wanted to do and set up signals for those. Beyond that we just called as we went, it wasn't too hard with a really good ref. 5) I was sore as hell afterwards, and the match probably sucked ass, but I had a good time and the fans were appreciative of my jobbing godliness. 6) I had a 60-minute draw with one of my best friends ever. We were both seriously gassed by the 40-minute mark and were running on adrenaline for the last twenty minutes. 7) Well, I just worked for a local company so the most traveling I did was like a 20 minute drive. They had a show, they'd call me and let me know and I'd go in to the office a few days before the show to meet up with the guys and the booker and go over things.
The only things I had left after leaving were scars and a t-shirt of myself holding a sword and a weasel. I gave it to a girlfriend, we broke up, I never saw it again.

1) Whats your ring gear, like what do you wear in the ring: I have a pair of board shorts with a skull on them and I have some classic black books, black pads, and wrap up with white tape. I wear a shirt to the ring and take it off and usually choke the person with it to start off the match! lol 2) Height/Weight: 6'1 205lbs 3) How long were your training (not wrestling training) before you started doing the actual wrestling training: I use to wrestle around with friends in high school and did some lifting that's pretty much about it. 4) How long did it take you to pick up the whole "call the match as you go"? A few matches in. I have a little bit of a hearing problem so it took me a while to adapt to it. It depends on who you are in the ring with. Sometimes it's worked out in the back and when you wanna do a spot you just say "suplex" or "bodyslam". 5) How did your first match go? I won the 6 man Tag Team Titles (remember stuff like that?!) so I say it went pretty well. 6) What do you think is your best match? they all are so different from each other. I would have to say the one where I won the tag team titles with my partner. The match flowed really well and the people liked it. You know it's good when the promoter kisses you on the forehead. 7) What do you do once you get trained, like how do you go about getting booked at other places? I send emails with my teams website and also word of mouth. I google wrestling feds and check out their websites and maybe send them a tape. Also make friends with different workers and they can bring you in. You'll find it's easy once you know who to talk to.

Well, I was decent in genyosha (a very obscure and stupid martial art) and I used to watch Power Rangers. Does that count? I got the job after beat the crap out of an unruly drunk in the crowd one night, and lied about my age. My first match was actually my first training session aside from the guys telling me to fall flat on my back as much as possible.

1) Whats your ring gear, like what do you wear in the ring.
I wore mainly black or orange baggy pants. I still have 3 pairs somewhere. Along with any t-shirt I had that looked cool (Godzilla, old horror movies, metal bands, comics, etc. Kinda Raven-ish I guess)
2) Height/Weight
6'0, and 160 or so when I wrestled
3) How long were your training (not wrestling training) before you started doing the actual wrestling training
Didn't get trained one bit, just lied my way onto a couple shows. I'd been wrestling with my friends for years.
4) How long did it take you to pick up the whole "call the match as you go"?
Not long at all really. I'd seen so many matches I just naturally had the feel for how it should "flow"
5) How did your first match go?
Very good actually. Was a hardcore match with lots of weapons (But no stupidity like light tubes and such) that opened a show and really popped the crowd. I came to the ring in an ECW shirt, and they billed me as ECW talent coming to take over. Which was really, really lame because i obviously never worked for ECW. Don't ask me. Wasn't my idea lol
6) What do you think is your best match?
Either the match I just mentioned, or my first (And as of now, last) main event, a 6 man tag that saw me as a special mystery partner (teaming with the man I faced in my debut) where we were supposed to go over, but two sit out powerbombs onto a chair got me legit knocked out and my partners were out of position so I got pinned lol.
7) What do you do once you get trained, like how do you go about getting booked at other places?
Can't help ya there, sorry. I only worked for one company, and I just kinda lucked into that. I hope to get trained legit one day and attempt a comeback but its not likely due to my physical condition at the moment.
And I have pics somewhere, I'll see if I can find any.

A question to fellow Wreslters/Former Wrestlers:
I am well versed in MMA(Kick Boxking and Jiu Jitsu. My forte is "mat work", I know lots of Jiu Jitsu holds.), do you think this can actually help to become a wrestler? Does it matter?

The best help I think that gives you is conditioning and flexablity (which something I lack SEVERELY) and some degree of control over your strikes, so yes it helps, as long as you are willing to learn the worked grappling style.

Well, since I am willing, this is a start! I just need to wait till a indy fed comes over to Rio and I am set.(A shame that most Indy Feds are from São Paulo. :/) My legs aren´t that flexible but my arms are. I legit "no sold" a armlock more than once .(But I really try not to get myself into a submission agains´t my legs, I just can´t get out.)

I'm great at getting out of submissions thanks to a combination of wiggling/flailing and a high pain tolerance. My back and legs are terribly un-flexible, I can't bend over and touch my toes....I get...well....almost to my shins ;D

1) Whats your ring gear, like what do you wear in the ring.
Think Austin Aries more or less.
2) Height/Weight
5' 9" roughly 180 pounds.
3) How long were your training (not wrestling training) before you started doing the actual wrestling training
About 5/6 years in tae kwon do, judo, and BJJ.
4) How long did it take you to pick up the whole "call the match as you go"?
A few months really. How long before I could do it well? I'm still working on that one. I prefer to have the other person call most of the match for me.
5) How did your first match go?
My first 'match' was a battle royale that I almost broke my nose in because of how much of a clusterf*** it was. My first 'real' match was pretty decent. A veteran had his nice little way with me in the ring for a good 5 minutes, but he let me get in a couple moves so it was all good.
6) What do you think is your best match?
My best match I had in Japan. It was the third match on the card and was the first time I had ever done a 450 in a match. I have had better rated matches (even one by Dave Meltzer), but I don't feel it was as good as that match.
7) What do you do once you get trained, like how do you go about getting booked at other places?
Well when I first started, I mainly concentrated at the place where I was trained because that was garunteed bookings, even if they didn't pay me anything for it (I was desparate for ring time, because every time you're in the ring it gets your name out there). Eventually, I had built up enough of a name and connections that I could call up feds and workers I knew out of town and ask for bookings. Once you establish yourself in enough areas, bookings will start coming from a few places where you become firmly entrenched as a 'talent.' One of the main things that I did though was just go to other feds with workers that I was friends with and just try to get bookings. Usually if you can have someone vouch for you the promoter will find you a place on the card somewhere.
Oh, and a big thing you can do if have tapes of your matches, or even like three minute promo videos. Through a couple unique things in there with some bigger name guys and just send out tapes EVERYWHERE.
