I will trade those 3 sequels to get a sequel to True Lies, and a Blu-Ray release for True Lies.

You know, if I make movies in the future I should just make a really shitty one but throw in all 3D and computer stuff so people will call it "the greatest movie ever" and make billions.

New Zealand? Don't they know that's the world's most dangerous place for actors. I heard there's a random cliff there that has killed many a celebrity.

Avatar wasn't or isn't the greatest film ever. But come on, some of you are acting like the film is horrible. It's actually a really good piece of cinema with great effects, I thought the story was interesting, and the action pieces were amazing as well. What's with the hate?

No. One of those films was enough, and even that one was an abortion.

The story was as predictable as could be, and the acting fairly wooden-with a few note able exceptions. The effects were indeed beautiful and showed how far digital imagery has come. I could see at least one sequel being plausible, but 3? Why not just make it official and call it "Avatar-Tge Search for More Money?"

It's not the worst movie ever by a long shot. But it's a pretentious with an uninspired plot glossed over with 3D effects and some fancy, artsy scenery. Once you look past that you'll see nothing special.

I'm not sure all of a sudden about 3 new Avatars, but I'm anxious to see the first sequel. December 2016 can't come soon enough.

Avatar was a very mediocre story, and that's the point. Sadly, established franchises are the big money makers right now, so we're going to continue to see more and more sequels and rebooted movies, and less and less new ideas or traditional movies. I guess that's my biggest complaint about needless sequels or reboots, it just makes it far more difficult to get better stories off the ground or into theaters. Another reason why I think that TV may soon surpass cinema in terms of engaging entertainment.

I'm looking forward to seeing them. I don't require every movie to be "the greatest movie of all time". Sometimes I just want to turn my brain off and watch shit blow up as I eat popcorn.
I put Avatar in the same movie bin as Independence Day and Armageddon. Fun to watch once, can turn into a chore watching multiple times. Acting/Story subpar and overproduced, but I'm not going to go to great lengths to bitch about it. They are good popcorn flicks that don't really mean much in the long run.
I don't walk into a James Cameron movie expecting it to change my outlook on life. I expect shit to explode and for Bill Paxton to die in hilarious fashion. Granted he wasn't in Avatar... perhaps that was the problem? I love me some Bill Paxton.
Addition:
I treat movies like Wrestling. I like the variety. If everything was CM Punk vs Daniel Bryan, I'd tune out. I require the Great Khali vs Chavo in a Hornswoggle on a pole match from time to time to keep things interesting.

While in all honestly I can't say that the prospect of wanting to watch a sequel to Avatar (let alone two more after that)interests me but as a mate of mine who works in film industry pointed out this will do wonders for the New Zealand film industry which has stared to rapidly decline over past couple of years.
