Can someone get me a picture of Samoa Joe at his thinest while wrestling?

Is there such a thing as a thin Samoan? I thought they just started at hefty and went up from there.

there were some shots of him in UPw, where he was pretty svelte.

Yeah, he was definately smaller back in 2001/2002, but he was still pretty damn big, regardless.

Yeah, he was probably around 240-250 at the start of his career. He's starting to push 300 now.

They were billing him at 270 at the start of his ROH career...but they're STILL billing him at that, when it's clear he's bigger now.
TNA (and FIP, oddly) has him at 280; all this just confuses me if these companies are either trying to play his weight up or down. Gah, confusion.

I wonder how big he is going to let himself get. If he gets too big it will eventually start affecting his work. In 10 years is the guy going to be a 400 pounder.

Actually I worry about this now--since Joe has been in TNA there have been quite a few complaints about his matches being too short. And the extra weight is so predictive of injury.

I don't really think that's Joe's issue, though; I mean, just in late August he wrestled another 60 minute draw in ROH, and, having seen it, I don't remember seeing any real signs of him getting gassed, outside of him selling the exhaustion/length of the match.
Even back in 2003/2004, Joe mostly wrestled 15-20 minute matches, so that's nothing new.
As for his actual gaining weight, we can only conjecture things. Obviously, he's bigger now; it's clear from just watching old shows. But watching him, there doesn't seem to be much indication that his stamina has taken a hit in the process, and he can still go like a mother.
Maybe it's a matter of "how" he gained the weight; if he just got lazy with his training and hit the buffet, he wouldn't perform near the level he does now, and yet you don't associate someone with his stamina and conditioning with someone who's put on visible weight in the last three years or so.
Never thought I'd put so much thought into Samoa Joe's body weight...yikes.

Joe's probably got a body where no matter how much work you do you still look fat

He's still young, so his body is changing. You tend to get more heavy set as you age.

And thin Joe looks odd.

I'm sure Joe could stand to lose a few pounds...... I like Joe but he should be wearing a shirt (Same as guys like Piper)

I'm sure Joe could stand to lose a few pounds...... I like Joe but he should be wearing a shirt (Same as guys like Piper) He actually started wrestling in a shirt and pants. And the fatter he became, the less clothes he wore. When he is close to 350 pounds, expect him to wear a thong.
