This is a thread where we guess who the next NEW WWE World Heavyweight Champion is and we try to roughly predict when it might happen. By NEW, I mean a guy who hasn't won either of the previous titles (WWE or World) before.
My guess:
Cody Rhodes, but it won't be until 2015, post Wrestlemania. So June-July of 2015.

At this point, I honestly couldn't tell you. I thought that Ryback was a certainty to win the title this year, but he's been jobbed out to the point where he's just another 'guy' in the upper midcard. I also had the same feeling about Wade Barrett and Mr. Kennedy and for various their pushes didn't work out.
If I was to make an educated guess as of right now, I'd say Roman Reigns. The company seems to be really behind him, and he's go a great look and decent in-ring ability. But I'm sure he'll get needlessly de-pushed for the sake of 'paying his dues' somewhere down the road.

Cody's a good bet for sure.
I'll say Antonio Cesaro - Wrestlemania 31 (cashing in the Money in the Bank case he wins this summer).

Roman Reigns is a sure fire choice to be next champ...unfortunately they will probably pull the trigger too soon and it will bomb like Sheamus.

I hope we are entering a period where fewer men get to win the top title. I'd like to see Antonio Cesaro become a true main eventer who holds the top title as a heel. The period of having two titles led to too many people becoming 'world champion.'

I think Bray Wyatt has a good chance.

I'll guess Cesaro, though I could see Ambrose winning it as well.
The WWE already has enough main event faces right now, so unless one of them turns, I see the next new champion being a heel.

I've got a feeling that someone will get in one of those lengthy "take on all challengers" reigns like Cena's from 2007 (where he defended against Umaga, Khali, Lashley, etc). Eventually Big E. Langston's going to get a shot at one of the PPVs and pull of the surprise victory, hold the title for a month or two, and then drop it back to the champion or transition it to someone else.
So Big E or Roman Reigns would be my prediction.

I've got to go with Roman Reigns, I'd guess by SummerSlam they strap the rocket to his ass.

With how many former World Champs are on the roster, and how the WWE merged both titles into one- unless WWE is willing to do a serious trimming of the former World Champs on-roster [not even the lower names, but failed experiments at the top), I think it'd be a while before we get a NEW champ. Heck, part of me would even buy, if WWE doesn't trim the fat of the former World Champs- that the next NEW World Champion isn't even on the WWE or NXT roster as we speak.)

It won't happen in 2014, but probably by 2015. It's hard to say that far ahead who'll strike gold and move up the card; Reigns and Biggie are the two obvious candidates right now, but I could easily see it being Sandow, Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, or even Fandango.

Cody.
And Ambrose will get it before Reigns does.

Cody should get it before any of those guys if only because of his longevity on the main roster.

Cody. And Ambrose will get it before Reigns does. Reigns spearing Ambrose in the middle of the ring and winning his first title at WM31 would be a huge moment and true changing of the guard with regards to the WWE main event scene. That being said the main event of that year will be a triple threat between Cena/Orton/Sheamus. A lot of people in this thread are saying Cody has a good chance of winning the title and I wonder why you guys think that? WWE seems to yo-yo his momentum as frequently as Ziggler's. I'd love to see Cody as champion myself.

Big E, Cesaro, or Roman Reigns.
