When Goldberg was walking to the ring with his security team, A) Why did he even need a security team if he was so badass and B) Why didn't anyone just jump him from behind before he even got to the ring? God knows if I faced Goldberg I'd take every cheapshot I could.

Supposedly, it was to prevent attacks from behind from the nWo at the time.

It was great story telling. WCW was protecting their champion from the nWo. NO one had beaten Hogan up to that point and with Goldberg WCW finally had their man. Hogan and the New World Order were just taking out whoever they felt like at that point, so it made great sense for WCW to want to protect their ace in the hole. and looked epic.

You've got it all wrong. The security team wasn't there to protect Goldberg from the nwo...IT WAS TO PROTECT THE NWO FROM GOLDBERG!!!!!

Wait, you ask why he needs it, and then ask why no one attacked him from behind. It seems like you are answering your own question. He has it to keep people from jumping him before his match.

Supposedly, it was to prevent attacks from behind from the nWo at the time. I didn't watch WCW at the time. I'll grant your answer as 100% true, which still doesn't answer the question of why, if he was so badass, he needed bodyguards.

Even Goldberg couldn't hold off that much of a ZergRush

Goldberg hiding behind Doug Dillinger amuses me.

I thought it was to protect others from Goldberg since he was so badass and crazy it was to stop him from attacking others.
