When has WWE acknowledged real world tragedies on TV, such as natural disasters, deadly attacks, or deaths of very famous people (not wrestler's deaths)? The most obvious one I can think of is the 9/11 show.

They acknowledged the Persian Gulf War by having Sgt. Slaughter turn on America and side with Sadaam Hussein.
They also acknowledged the tragic Rosie O'Donnell/Donald Trump feud by having two people dress up like them an wrestle.

Basically a more accurate statement would be that the WWE makes light of real world tragedies, rather than just acknowledging them.

They rang the bells 26 times last December for Sandy Hook, which was especially hard to listen to since they were in Brooklyn for TLC then.

9/11 was almost as bad as when Vince was on trial for steroids. ALMOST.
