I just don't get the Lei'D Tapa monster push

It's all because they're trying to convince us about how large she is. But she's built just like ODB and is barely taller than Velvet. In comparision, Tamina looks larger than what she actually is because she has a larger build than the rest of the WWE Divas.


It's just a really glaring flaw. Also because she's green as goose shit but that's another problem. Alpha Female had a tryout match, is a pretty good wrestler and is much more intimidating in the ring so why couldn't they sign her?

the logical end to this is Gail beating a bunch of outsiders and proclaiming she is the best Knockout ever and saying something that pisses Tapa off. Tapa then challenges and beats Gail.

The angle was great till, she started following Gail. It make zero sense that she would follow Gail.

I mean, she is the biggest knockout. She's got a couple of inches on ODB and she carries her weight in her lower body while ODB is artifically top-heavy. She's just not THAT much bigger where it's like "my god, who can stop her?!" Especially because anyone watching can tell she's got no skills.

Yeah, it's ridiculous.

She and ODB are roughly the same size, Tapa may have half an inch on her, and the commentary goes on about how Tapa dwarfs her. She's like 2 inches taller than Velvet, that's not a monster. They obviously had her wear lifts against ODB, and still wasn't that much bigger.

And that's not even getting into this huge monster needing to cheat to beat ODB. Not something a monster should have to do.

Hell her first appearance in the company, saw her get her ass kicked by Ivelisse, and lose to her.

She's quite obviously banging Mike Tenay for her push, and that's nothing to sneeze at, Tenay is a freak known throughout the seedy underworld of the Las Vegas S&M clubs. They don't call him 'the Professor' because he knows a bunch of wrestling facts after all. Well either that or the fact that there are only like 5 KO's, it could go either way.

I've heard (from here in fact) that TNA really liked Alpha Female and actually wanted to build the KO Division around her as a monster heel.

Unfortunately, Alpha seemed to understand what that meant and asked for a contract with good pay.
Turns out TNA didn't want her that badly and decided to kinda use Tapa.
I'm sure the money they saved on that signing was well worth it.

Yep, lost to Ivelisse, who was then kicked anyway, joined Aces and Eight for like, a week and then dropped by TNA. One of their stupider decisions, could've played up Ivelisse's hunter schtick and had her beat the crap out of the Knockouts and injure them with submissions.

Simple answer to why is she getting pushed/hired over more competent female wrestlers on the Indies. She accepted the small change they offered her, and she most likely was already located in Florida, since i know her Uncle Barbarian lives there.

I'm sure TNA is very interested in Alpha Female, but most male wrestlers aren't making enough in TNA to scrape by, let alone what they pay the Knockouts and how much it would cost her to relocate for basically just minimal TV exposure.

She probably works very cheap. And in cash-strapped TNA, that's about as good as they're going to get these days.

At this point, it seems like an albatross to even be in TNA, unless your name is Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, or Sting. Even guys like Joe, Aries, and Styles are getting pushed out, likely because they can make a lot elsewhere and can command a bigger contract as a result.

That does not sound like a company that can last.

Because TNA screwed up when they had Awesome Kong and let her go, so now they're trying over and think lightning can strike twice, because Lei'D Tapia is big, just like Kong was. Just ignore that while she's big, she's not tall and doesn't tower over the over Knockouts, no matter how much Tenay and Taz try to sell it, and there's that pesky little fact that she sucks in the ring.
