Bo
"Black Hat" Bailey is a veteran, a real old-school type of fighter. He is best known for the ten years he spent in the SWF; he might not have been the biggest star there, but he had huge success as a reliable midcard wrestler and won many titles. He finally left them in 2006 when it became clear he was falling further and further down the pecking order, and soon found his way to his natural home, the old-school nirvana of New York City Wrestling where he became head booker. He has gone on to establish himself as one of the company's top heels, although it is becoming increasingly clear that he will have to retire pretty soon due the increasing frequency with which he is getting injured.

Nigel
"Honest Frank" Harriet is a big brawler from New York City. He first had a brush with fame during the 1990s, when he worked for the Xtreme Federation of Wresting during the famous East Coast wars. He was using the name Frankie Future at the time, and was one of the company's main stars, winning their world title two times and having a money-spinning feud with arch nemesis Shawn Gonzalez. Unlike Shawn though, he never caught on with DAVE fans post-war, and ended up drifting around for years, eventually settling in NYCW. The Frankie Future character was revived in late 2007, when he debuted for Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling, and he spent a few years as one of the busiest men in American wrestling, headlining for both NYCW and PSW. In 2012, fearing burn out, he decided to leave PSW and concentrate entirely on NYCW instead.

Roger Cage is a wrestler from California who is best known for his work with New York City Wrestling. Debuting in 2004, he was originally known as "The Ladies' Man" Roger Dodger, and worked a slick prima donna gimmick which he played well enough to hide his flaws in the ring. Despite the great character, Roger failed to rise above midcard status in the promotion. In 2008, with his momentum having stalled completely as a heel, he was reinvented as the epitome of Hollywood style, Roger Cage (his real name). Working as a babyface for the first time, and with Cheerleader Nicki as his manager to really get the crowd on his side, he finally started to make some serious headway toward becoming a real star, and capped it all by winning the NYCW Empire title in November 2011.

The "Living Legend"
Steve Flash is a solid wrestler who has been highly in-demand for virtually his entire career thanks to his ability to make even the least talented opponent look good. This skill was especially evident during his "peak years" during the mid-1990s, when not only was he working regularly for both major promotions in Canada, but he was also playing a leading role for Rapid Pro Wrestling during the East Coast Wars. Now approaching his 50th birthday, Steve is winding down his career with New York City Wrestling, although his performances remain at a high level thanks to having kept himself in great shape (and mostly injury free). In a notable moment, he was a surprise guest at the MAW 2011 Rip Chord Invitational and became the first 'outsider' to win the tournament.

Gerrard "
Whistler" Lee is a charismatic veteran brawler, known for his usual patriotic gimmick and quick temper. He first came to fame in the early 1990s with Philly Power Pro Wrestling, and was with them throughout the East Coast Wars. He then headed for Southern Championship Class Wrestling, where he was a four time champion and the company's main draw. Nowadays he is best known for his work with New York City Wrestling, where he is a former three time Empire champion, and also a two time tag team champion too. With his 50th birthday behind him, and over three decades of active competition, Whistler's retirement draws ever closer.

"Bulldozer" Brandon Smith is a heavyweight grappler from Robinsdale, Minnesota. A former football stand-out, he began training to be a wrestler when a knee injury ended his dreams of pro ball. He is a powerful fighter who generally likes to get in close and crush his opponent with heavy duty Japanese-style suplexes and violent slams. He was spotted by Rip Chord during some of his first few independent matches, and impressed enough that he was brought into MAW for training. He made his debut for the promotion in October 2007, working under a mask as the ultra old-school character American Patriot (originally "The Masked Patriot", until legal action over the rights to the character forced a change), and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming MAW champion just under two years later. He left MAW in 2011 as a greatly improved worker, joining NYCW.

"The King of Old School"
Rick Sanders is a solid, dependable technically-minded worker. In the early 1990's, while still a rookie, he teamed up with Johnny Martin on the independent scene as "The Ace Express" and they were tipped to be the next big tag team in North America. However, they never fulfilled their potential, the team eventually slipped into inactivity, and Martin ended up becoming a major singles star in DAVE. Sanders went on to be a major part of SCCW, and later headed for New York City Wrestling; originally just another body for the midcard, his spur-of-the-moment makeshift team with The Masked Mauler turned out to be an awesome pairing, and they have become one of the premier duos in the promotion.

Sammy The Shark (Greg Ford) is a young all-round performer, who has been wrestling for New York City Wrestling since his pro debut in late 2004. Originally a heel, he developed a great old-school character for himself, a card sharp \ con man who cheated whenever he could to gain an advantage, and it caught on well with NYCW's traditional fan base. In 2008, his regular tag team partner Roger Cage turned babyface, and Sammy turned too. Dropping the conman gimmick entirely, the new Sammy was a laid-back dude who just wanted to have fun.

The Masked Mauler is a generic masked character which has been around for many, many years. This version is played by journeyman wrestler William Franklyn, who is the sixth man to wear the black mask, having been handed the gimmick in 2000. This Mauler was signed to New York City Wrestling in 2001, bringing to an end almost a decade of Franklyn wandering through various territories around North America. As far as NYCW were concerned, originally he was intended to be a totally disposal midcarder, but things changed when his makeshift tag team with Rick Sanders proved to be a surprise hit, and turned both men into valuable members of the roster - and regular tag team champions.

"Animal" Harker is a wild young brawler from Dallas, Texas, who some see shades of the late great Wild Man Sullivan in. The 280lb bruiser is fairly limited in terms of technique, but makes up for that with an intense attack style and a willingness to take a beating. He also seems to have a natural ability to get a crowd on his side, as even though he hardly ever touches a microphone he always seems to have the fans rooting for him. After a year on the independent scene paying his dues, Animal got his first break in 2009 when New York City Wrestling took him out East to work for them. He has turned into one of their most reliable performers.

Dean Waldorf is a solidly consistent young worker from Chicago. He is primarily a tag team competitor, having spent virtually his entire short career alongside "Marvelous" Marv Statler as The Ring Generals. Having established a name for themselves on the independent circuit they got their first big break in 2007 when they were hired to Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling. They got on fairly well in PSW, winning the tag team belts, but were traded to New York City Wrestling in 2009 in exchange for Grandmaster Phunk. The trade - a rarity in modern pro wrestling - suited all three men involved, as their ring styles were much better suited to their respective new homes. The Ring Generals have become the backbone of the NYCW roster.

Howlin' Mad Mort is the Canadian wrestler formerly known as Yukon Eric. Spotted by NYCW owner Larry Vessey on a small-time independent show while working against Whitehorse Whittaker, both men were impressive enough to be hired. Repackaged together as a lumberjack tag team called The Boys From The Yukon, Eric became Howlin' Mad Mort, the crazy powerhouse wildman of the team.

"Marvelous"
Marv Statler is a solid wrestler from the Chicago area who is best known for being one half of The Ring Generals tag team alongside "Deadly" Dean Waldorf. The two technically-oriented grapplers made a name for themselves as an extremely reliable old-school style team on the independent scene, and that repuation saw them get hired in 2007 for their first run with a "name" promotion, Pittsburgh Steel Wrestling. They got on well in their new promotion, capturing the PSW tag team titles at one point, but were traded to New York City Wrestling in 2009 in exchange for Grandmaster Phunk, a switch that really suited all three competitors. The Ring Generals are now an integral part of NYCW.

Monty Trescarde initially looked to be another one of the many wrestlers who spend the vast majority of their career working small independent shows while simultaneously holding down a 'real world' job too, spending the first eight years of his career in virtual obscurity working under his real name, Johnny Warburton. That changed in December 2011, when his very own Christmas miracle happened - he was spotted by Larry Vessey, out talent spotting in the Tri-State area, and was signed to NYCW. Given the corrupt wall street gimmick of Monty Trescarde, Warburton seems intent on grabbing this golden opportunity with both hands.

Tennessee William is a brawler who Larry Vessey discovered working the independent scene in the southern states under his real name, Jerry Lee Perkins. Liking the youngster's fire, Vessey hired him to come and work for New York City Wrestling. He debuted in July 2012, using the name Tennessee William and working a blues musician gimmick.

The New York Doll is a youngster from Florida who has the memorable look of a red mohawk and a body covered in tattoos, giving him a great punk rocker vibe. As well as the New York Doll, he has also previously worked under the names Clash Rotten, Spike and Filth Sylvain, but it is as The New York Doll that he has had his most success, as that is the character he has been playing in NYCW, the first "name" promotion that really gave him the chance to shine.

Whitehorse Whittaker is a burly Canadian brawler who spent his entire career working the low-level independent scene up north prior to being signed by NYCW in early 2012. In a strange twist of fate, Whittaker would be teamed up with Howlin' Mad Mort to form a new tag team, The Boys From The Yukon - Mort was the wrestler formerly known as Yukon Eric, against whom Whittaker had been competing when Vessey first saw him.

Staff
Cheerleader Nicki is a bubbly young valet from San Fransisco. She made her first pro appearance in 2007, when she debuted for New York City Wrestling as a ringside presence with American Machine. She and Machine made a good pairing, which was brought to an abrupt end when Machine left the promotion. Nicki has since become the regular manager of Roger "Smooth" Cage.
"The Slick Pimp Daddy"
Ernie Turner is a charismatic fellow from Tennessee. He first broke into the business with Southern Championship Class Wrestling, where he wrestled under a mask as the heelish Assassin #2 and was a former two-time tag team champion. After SCCW went under he dropped the mask entirely and started wrestling all around the country under his real name, usually as a fan favourite. Never anywhere near as good in the ring as he was on the microphone, Turner retired in 2010 and started to work full-time as the new colour commentator for New York City Wrestling.
Fern Hathaway is a valet from Atlanta, Georgia, who has worked professionally as a model. That career choice brought her from the South up to New York and, after a series of coincidences, led to her becoming a valet for New York City Wrestling. With no wrestling skills or knowledge at her disposal, her role to date has involved very little past the basics of "stand around looking pretty".
Larry Vessey is a genuine tough guy who is best known for the tag team he formed with his younger brother, Bryan. The Vessey Brothers were perhaps the most dominant duo of the 1990s, especially in TCW where they captured the tag team championship six times in six years. He looked to be seeing out the last few years of his career with occasional matches for PGHW in Japan, but left the promotion in 2009 as a show of support for his brother. While Bryan headed to TCW, Larry was offered a position with NYCW which he accepted - his old-school mentality clearly made a good impression, as when The Stomper retired from the business in 2010, Larry was his hand-picked choice to take over the running of the company. He retired from active competition shortly after in order to concentrate on his new duties.
"No BS"
Michael Bull is a decent referee from Florida, who is infamous for getting physically involved in matches to break things up when necessary. Over the years he has become best known for his work with New York City Wrestling, whom he joined in 2000.
Rock Downpour is a veteran announcer, known for his immense size. He was a wrestler during the 1980s, but was retired by the dawn of 1991 after being unable to crack his way into any of the major promotions. He has gone on to become closely associated with New York City Wrestling, and became lead announcer following the departure of Marvin Earnest.
