Im surprised they never had Goldust use it during his "artist formerly known as goldust" angle. I mean, he came down as Dusty, so why not a Hogan parody as well?

Was there a reason for them to have Hogan's old theme song as their own? Was it a backstage rib? They're old. Hogan's old. Get it? That's basically it. What made it funnier was that Patterson & Brisco were older.

It was a rib on Hogan, but also to make the Stooges look like buffoons, which of course was the point. Pretty sure this is as close to correct as we'll get without actually being in the room when the decision was made.
