You basically have the motive now. I just need a summary to complete the mystery. It's not fully unraveled, but you're on the brink.

quick summary:
Phil is a successful business man who works for his dad. One day walking home, he hears a commotion at his neighbors house. The commotion was a trap for Phil as his mother beat him to death with an object. She killed her while Phil's father also conspired in the murder because phil recently screwed up at work and was an embarrassment to them. Money was a huge part
questions: Was the business losing money on his blunder?
was the murder driven out of anger?
did they kill him to save money/make up for losses?
did they kill him to gain more money?

Summary is Mostly correct. Last part of sentence III and first part of sentence IV could use work. Question 1: Yes--loss of money and his blunder. Question 2: Not fully. Question 3: Yes. This is HALF the motive. Very good. It's secondary to the main plot, but certainly a sub-reason or half of the reason. Question 4: No.

was phil's mishaps causing a reduction of shareholders/investors? Yes, potentially. I don't want to steer you wrong and make you all get hung up on that for a day or two. But yes, shareholders would be a concern.

okay so how about this Phil screwed up at work, and is an embarrassment to his family. Because of his screw-ups, the company is losing money/investors. They can't just fire him, because Phil has a bad stigma to him. He brings shame to his parents. They can't just fire him because he can bring his antics elsewhere still inadvertently hurting his parent's business. Thus to save money, they have to get rid of him, so they kill him. His mother causes a commotion at the neighbors house and beats him to death with a shovel.
Is that about it, minus what Phil's exact screw-up was?

Half the motive hasn't been unraveled. A significant part of it. Though it's unusual. I'll go ahead with the reveal if you all want. I think you played a good game Just let me know if you want the reveal. It is a hard one to start with. I debated whether to go easy on you guys or hard. I gave you all the benefit of the doubt. There is something definitely in the original write-up that was asked about a couple of times and was really significant that no one caught onto.

hmmm. I'm guessing the other half of the motive has to do with being in the BACK of the yard, or the fact that the police were called HOURS later OR maybe......... His name is Phil FEISTY, that means he is energetic, and maybe ill-temepered. Maybe he was just a huge annoyance and too much of a personality. His parents also have the name Feisty. Its Fire fighting Fire, and Phil annoyed them to the boiling point so they offed him?

I'll still try a few more questions as long as other people don't request for the reveal: did Phil give his company bad PR?
