Which stars are protected enough they can't be ruined? By protected I mean guys who won't go lower than upper midcard.
What I mean by that is, let's see, Kane for example. Kane's been in the WWE since the late 90s. He's gotten into feud after feud after feud but no matter what he always rises above. Now look at Kane. What we see is Kane with the Authority and he's doing a great job with it. What I mean is this: Kane is protected. Because of who he is, his status and his resume he can be put in any angle and it'll work great for him. He will never drop lower than upper midcard because of this. Unlike the Rybacks of the WWE, Kane's always going to be protected. He's solidified and they can use him for anything.
This brings me to Bryan. I'd say he's similar to Punk and Kane in those regards. Bryan? If he really turned heel on Raw then I'll say it's the same for him. FAN might whine and be upset at Bryan's position but from what we've seen Bryan's "protected". Bryan turned the Miz feud into greatness, went on to turn his WHC era to greatness, went on to enjoy the Team Hell No era to greatness, he's over with the fans and as we've seen last night the Wyatt feud is as hot as it's ever been. Sure the WWE might annoy many people with some of their decisions but what we can see is the fact that Bryan's at a great level. He turns anything he's in into magic and that's something more people need to accept. He's never going to go below upper midcard now. No matter how bad it gets he will never get lower than this. It begs the question on how Bryan's perceived backstage. Although, I'm sure Bryan's similar to Edge where he's mostly laidback, doesn't care much about backstage politics, at the same time he's going to be put into great angles. He's become a staple of the WWE now compared to how he used to be.
Either way I'd say he's protected.
Anyway, long rant over but I have to ask.
Who else is protected in the WWE? At a level where they will never go below upper midcard? There are who come to mind. Mind you, no part-timers except Taker:
- Cena
- Orton
- Punk
- Kane
- Big Show
- Bryan
- Undertaker
What do you think? Mysterio and Henry are for consideration as well.
