There's a been a fair bit of talk in other threads about CM Punk and Bryan's place on the card and the role of part-timers has been a talking point for some time. This has got me thinking, who do you think are the top 15 stars in WWE based on what they have presented to us over the past few years (ie long-term rather than current card position)? I don't just mean in terms of titles/matches won but how WWE have presented each wrestlers overall importance mixed with their kayfabe abilities. I think the presence of part-timers makes that an interesting question. As does limiting it to 15 as you have to leave off some of the big names. {Spoiler}{My list}1. Cena 2. The Rock 3. Undertaker 4. Brock 5. CM Punk 6. HHH 7. Daniel Bryan 8. Randy Orton 9. The Shield 10. Sheamus (Big gap) 11. Del Rio 12. Ziggler 13. Kane 14. The Big Show 15. Mark Henry

I might try a list of top babyfaces and heels, which could end up adding up to 14 and I'm not going to use extras and part timers, though that sometimes does cause problems.
Babyfaces: John Cena CM Punk Daniel Bryan Sheamus (when he's around) Big Show Big E Langston Mark Henry
Heels: Randy Orton Bray Wyatt Roman Reigns Seth Rollins Dean Ambrose Alberto Del Rio Ryback
There is a desperate need for heels though it seems and one of the major issues with The Authority and Triple H being the top heel. I was thinking of having the Shield as a collective unit, but then guys like Damien Sandow and Brodus Clay would have to be put down. I think when Sheamus comes back, he needs a fresh coat of paint and a heel turn, something aligning him with The Authority.
With part timers though, Triple H and Brock Lesnar are slotted right at the top, with Trips probably taking over as the number one heel and Lesnar maybe number 3, with the Shield together collectively as number 4. On the baby face end, Batista is likely going to bump Daniel Bryan and maybe even CM Punk as number 2 or 3 baby face. Rock though is pretty much done, and when he's around, he's usually the number 2 baby face behind Cena, he's pretty much done with wrestling for the time being it seems. Undertaker as well would be in the top 3. This year, WWE needs to work on establishing heels, and I think that's one positive of pushing Bray Wyatt, and having the Shield compete in longer singles matches. Roman Reigns is likely going to be a top baby face, Ambrose a top heel and Rollins could be slotted either way and he'll likely be successful.

1. HHH- "the greatest champion of them all" 2. Cena- the eternal underdog 3. Rock- only man worthy enough to face cena at Mania 4. Brock- arrive. destroy. leave. 5. Undertaker- if WM then moves to #1. 6. Orton- always lurking as a menace to any title holder. 7. Punk- pretty much the top guy among the regulars but cena stll presented more strongly in general. 8. Sheamus- call 1-800-Fella if you're not convinced 9. Big Show- when not crying like a baby new year he's always seen as a "business is about to pick up" when his music hits. 10. Daniel Bryan- the energizer bunny- he keeps YES!ing and YES!ing 11. Shield- starting to become more vulnerable lately. when they first showed they were top 5. 12. Henry- always seen as a threat- tends to get the Worf treatment though when face. 13. Del Rio- always around the titles 14. Kane- lost a bit of his fear factor of late 15. Mysterio i guess.- the other eternal underdog.

1. The Rock 2. The Undertaker 3. John Cena 4. Brock Lesnar 5. Triple H 6. CM Punk 7. Randy Orton 8. Daniel Bryan 9. Sheamus 10. Alberto del Rio (hopefully he's finally losing his luster and drifting down the card now...) 11/12. Chris Jericho/Rob Van Dam (interchangeable) 13. The Big Show 14. Rey Mysterio 15. Kane
Mark Henry would be #16 if we went lower. Beyond that, and we're drifting out of the main event fringes altogether.

Rather than make my own list, I'll comment on how hard it is to make it without listing people that rarely wrestle.
That's a big problem. I sat here wanting to make my top 15, it was ugly how hard it was.
Lets try just a top 10 with full time wrestlers
Cena Punk Bryan Orton Show Sheamus (injured, but he is) ...wow it's already getting hard to continue. Should I add all 3 members of the shield? Bray Wyatt?
Can kinda see why they're trying to elevate the Wyatts here huh?
ADR's career is wrapping up. I won't add him.
They need heels REALLY badly. Orton as champ makes a little more sense, he's the only established main event full time heel they have!

1) Undertaker 2) John Cena 3) Brock Lesnar 4) CM Punk 5) Daniel Bryan 6) HHH 7) The Shield 8) Randy Orton 9) Sheamus 10) The Wyatts 11) Big Show 12) Mark Henry 13) Rey Mysterio 14) Big E Langston 15) Alberto Del Rio
I considered putting HHH higher since his Pedigree still seems to pack a punch even as a non-wrestler, but he needed three of them and interference from the 82nd Airborne to barely beat Punk, and he's 1 for 3 against Brock. Orton's a weird case, as he can come out on top in a TLC match against Cena but can't beat Bryan without cheating or run-ins, so that drops him some.

I say HHH has the most powerful kayfabe finisher in the company atm. Purely because he was able to put Bryan down with it along with a good wait before Orton cashed in on him. Booker T style. Not so much OMG BRYAN IS A LOSER HE COULDN'T KICK OUT but more that Bryan was/is booked so strongly, you'd expect him to be kicking out of anything at 1 at that point. But no, Orton gained his MITB pin. I would place HHH above Bryan in kayfabe, just barely. I just think HHH vs Bryan on random PPV who wins? HHH more times than not. HHH will slowly let this go as he gets older, but it'll be a bit yet.
