Remember when he started calling Kurt Angle "Lumpy"? I would argue that Cena at that time was of my top five most hated wrestlers of all time.

I hate how on Total Divas his voice sounds so monotone. That's the only thing I hate about him and I'd say I'm his biggest fan here.
Maybe also him always saying the MITB winner cheats to win the title.

1: The character choice to not sell attacks just for dramatic effect; IE:
Chokeslam through spotlight, Nexus beatdowns, Hopping into the ring before the 10 count to name a few.
2: The character choice to be a goofball during important segments [The Rock feud is a noteable one]then on the occasion he does it's almost always screaming.
3: The fact that his character is exactly the same as it was in 2004 with out the slightest hint of any tweeks save different shorts. You can do babyface who learned from past experiences without making Cena into the wrestling equivalent of a south park character. [In that each episode has some connection to the previous but the characters remain in a self contained bubble of continuity.]
4: That despite the fact Cena has overcome every single odds angle they continue to portray him as somekind of underdog in any situation.
5: Still not being able to apply an STF, It isn't rocket science to make it look good.
6: You'd be hard pressed to find a match, even harder still a ppv match where he losses cleanly, The idea of a clean loss in anyway hurting him is just silly.
7: His character is responsible for turning the belt into a cheap spinning monstrosity that was kept around long after Cena dropped the rapping part of his character [The first, only and possibly last character change he ever had]
8: His character trying to be anti authority yet it's known and shown to the audience Cena is a corporate spokesperson for the WWE.
9: His character decision to be a comedian/ add random "I JUST SHOUTED BIGFOOTS DIAPER!" is cringe worthy.
10: The announcers insisting on calling his [depending on the venue] booed reaction "mixed" or "Heated"
11: WWE being aware that people are making valid complaints about Cena and shrugging it off as the murmurs of a vocal minority whose opinion is invalid.
Lastly one for just fun: I hate his choice of shirt colors.

LOL at this thread.
Cena can't wrestle? Really? He's a 14 time world champion. Yes, I realize that wrestling is scripted, but you don't become a world champion, let alone 14 times for "not being a wrestler". Saying Cena can't wrestle is the same thing as LeBron James can't play basketball, or Lionel Messi can't play soccer or Jon Jones can't fight etc. Yes, I'll admit Cena's act is stale, boring, and overdone. Yet at the same time Cena has been the workhorse for the company for a very long time. I'm sorry if you all perceive Cena for not doing a bunch of flips, enziguri's and top rope maneuvers but you know who else didn't? Hogan, Austin and Rock. Those 3 were pretty much over and accomplished a lot in the ring without indy moves that smarks go nuts for. For the record, I'm not even a Cena fan.

Admittedly, I haven't paid attention to it in a while but I remember a time when his hairline game was pretty f***ed up. I wanna say 2006-2007.

I hate that his last two shirts have been white with just words on them. HATE IT! Speaking of, I can't believe they remade that god-awful "THE CHAMP IS HERE" shirt. Like, really? You liked that stupid looking shirt so much you had to make another one?

Hate his 'character', tolerate his matches, despise his promos.
Other than that, he's great

OP seems so damn bored with this thread. Majority of people don't like him. We don't need a thread for justification of that. You don't seem to get the spirit of the thread. It's supposed to be fun. The days of Cena being one of the most hated guys among the hardcore fanbase is long gone. I'd say the vast majority of people like him--they may still boo him and want to see him lose, but they like him. This thread was designed to humorously get "back to basics" with good, old-fashioned Cena hate. We bring up legitimate things that annoy us, sure--because there's a reason Cena's so divisive--but it's largely tongue-in-cheek. To add: I hated the time that John Cena failed so hard as a Face that Angle had to shoot on black people and Jesus in order to get heel heat--and it didn't work!

He can't wrestle. He has five moves. A majority of his fans are kids, therefore he sucks. He's the reason for the PG Era. He panders to the crowd, he never loses clean, he's holding everyone down, he uses the Make A Wish Foundation to get fans. Hell, RVD is a better wrestler than John Cena.
THE ROCK WALKED OUT ON HIM! HE FAKED THE INJURY, IT WAS ALL AN ACT! HE DIDN'T WANT TO LOSE TO THE PG KIDDY JOHN CENA! HE KNOWS THE TRUTH, HE KNOWS CENA CAN'T WRESTLE!
What's funny is mostly everything is said is basically what you would hear from a Cena naysayer, even though all of them are ridiculous or outright false.

I hate how his seemingly genuine attempts to give people a rub by talking them up or befriending them on TV usually does more damage then good. I feel like this really isn't Cena's fault, so much as it is the company's for mishandling them. WWE never did anything with Cryme Tyme and wasted their potential. They legitimately tried their best with Evan Bourne. Ryder got over exposed by being in every other segment with Cena and then being bitched out over and over. Ryder was the biggest victim of the "little buddy" treatment. Riley was a solid midcard act who got needlessly thrown into random main event tag matches with Cena despite being nowhere near ready to perform at main event level Cena is at least acknowledging that Bryan should be in the upper echelon and deserves to be "on his level"

He got pined clean by CM Punk at Survivor Series 2012. That's most than both Hogan and Austin had, combined.
