Of course we've all heard he's on a short time deal and he and Cody want a match at Mania
But as well as he's wrestling I think they should sign him to a longer deal.
But I also wonder if he and Cody should actually have a match at Mania. There's so much happening a feud between them would have to be built very fast. I say leave them as a team for the forseeable future

I'd like to see them face each other. Mostly just because Cody deserves a Mania match and I think they've kind of run their course as a team. I do think you'd have plenty of time to set something up between them, though - have something or other that leads to Dusty showing Cody favoritism on some front (Old School Raw'd be a good place for that), then have Cody eliminate Goldust in the Rumble maybe accidentally, they drop the tag titles, suddenly Goldust has plenty of reason to turn on him.

As long as he can still go/wants to be around, keep him, he's been great this run.
A match wouldnt necessarily need a feud though, could be a face-face "respect" match. I'd much prefer that to a turn by either.

I hope they do a Eddie/Rey match at Mania between them.

I hope they do a Eddie/Rey match at Mania between them. Eventually it's revealed Cody was incapable of growing a mustache so Goldust grew one for him and he glued it on.

While I'm sure the match would be good, I have no desire to them face each other. Their team is fun and I would like to keep riding the fun train. The only problem I have with their act is that it's entirely resting on the laurels of how great their fired/rehired storyline was. They're consistently stealing shows but eventually fans will subconsciously realize that they aren't really doing anything and become less over as a result of it. Both guys are more than capable of carrying a story along so it's back to the age old question of why doesn't WWE do anything with them?

The WWE thinks tag teams only need to be over via wrestling ability, so that's why none of the actual two-men tag teams get mic time or heated storylines.

If Goldust is dead set on having a match at Mania with Cody, I'd prefer they wrestle as friends ala Eddie/Rey at WM 21 instead one turning on the other prior to the match.

yeah, I meant to add to my main post, I don't feel there'd be room for a friendly match at Wrestlemania

Say they drop the belts a bit before WM, there's no heel turn or angry party and they both deal with it.....but it's clear the loss hurts Goldust more.
They lose the rematch (to whomever) and maybe 1 or 2 other tag matches afterwards, and Goldust goes deeper into some sort of depression or self-blaming. Finally he has enough, and maybe they *tease* a heel turn at this point (for either a spiraling Goldust or a suddenly angry Cody), but instead he just announces he's retiring when his contract ends.
Cody tries to plead with him to think about it, Dusty shows up and tries to talk Dustin off the ledge, heck maybe even bring Terry Runnels back for a cameo for the history nerds, but after some cajoling Goldust announces he's still retiring.....but wants a match with Cody at WM. Win or lose, he's gone - he just wants a singles match with his brother, a last hurrah and a spotlight for the Rhodes at the grandest stage of them all.
Doing an Eddie/Rey thing would just tease further dissension and an eventually heel turn, which IMO ruins the team.....but here, it's cliched to do that, so why not let both guys fight at WM30 in a real face vs face situation, and the match ends with a legit hand shake/hug between brothers.
And dammit, just induct Goldust into the HOF at WM30 and give him an even bigger sendoff.

If they do face off, I hope they drop the tag belts first.
If they want to rebuild credibility to the tag titles...have a tag title match at Mania.

Only if Cody is the heel. Nobody wants to see a heel Goldust. Especially not the lapsed/casual fans who will be watching mania.

Ladder match for said mustache at Summerslam. "Where the f*** was Terri?" If that had a mustache on the briefcase, it'd be perfect.
