He'll face Cody in the opening match at Mania, expected to be a classic opener on the level of Eddie/Rey at Halloween Havoc or Bret/Owen. Right before the bell rings, Vickie Guerrero comes out and announces that this is now a triple threat match featuring this man. {Spoiler}{Spoiler} SHEAMUS! He comes to the ring, Brogue kicks Goldust who falls into Cody and knocks him down. Sheamus pins both of them in 17 seconds.

While I'm sure the match would be good, I have no desire to them face each other. Their team is fun and I would like to keep riding the fun train. The only problem I have with their act is that it's entirely resting on the laurels of how great their fired/rehired storyline was. They're consistently stealing shows but eventually fans will subconsciously realize that they aren't really doing anything and become less over as a result of it. Both guys are more than capable of carrying a story along so it's back to the age old question of why doesn't WWE do anything with them? I think they were onto something when Cody talked about the effect WWE had on his family and particularly Dustin's mental health. They could do a cool story where Cody tries to help Goldust (probably by retiring him at WM) but loses his own mind in the process, they could even switch roles mid-angle.

I think unless Dustin screws up WWE will keep pushing him for a while to come. When I went to the 2013 Survivor Series there were a bunch of kids dressed up like Goldust. Even given the characters less than kid friendly origins kids the age I'm talking about weren't even born when the Goludst character debuted. Likewise, their parents are cluesless. Since the Goldust look is an easy one to sell to kids and produce merchandise for I see WWE continuing to be behind Goldust until there's nothing left to milk.

I'd rather they defend the Tag Titles and lose them at Mania.
Rhodes vs Goldust should be a long-term feud.

They lose the belts at Royal Rumble after Goldust refuses to tag out even though he's injured.
Cody then kicks the leg out of his leg and the match is made for WrestleMania.

A face vs. face 'which brother is better?' match at Mania and then Goldust disappears sans Royal Rumble appearances once in a while.
