Yeah it was, Jericho talks about how in his book Vince lost confidence in his abilities pretty quick when he first debuted in the WWF so he went from being booked to be in the main event of Wrestlemania to losing to Stevie Richards on Sunday Night Heat.

Looks like a fake to me. Plus, I doubt Jericho would get hot shottted into the main event that quickly.

His facial hair is so patchy. I also heard they were considering Rikishi after Jericho

That's the story according to Jericho's book. Vince lost faith in him quickly after he debuted, however, and he was replaced by Mick Foley.

It's not a fake. I also remember Mick Foley saying in his second book that he never got contacted about wrestling in the Mania main event until about a week or so after his "retirement match" against Triple H at No Way Out. Foley was intending to stay retired and felt bad about being lured back so soon.
I believe Mick's first words when Vince called Mick to ask him were "Vince...I just retired"

It's real; as others have said it's in Jericho's book. I think even he wasn't told if that was the plan (although the poster implies it was).

Considering they debuted Y2J to so much build, interrupting The Rock, and all to a bad ass pop, this sounded like a good idea. He could've finally beaten Triple H here, then maybe do the thing were him and Rock teamed up but then struggled to co-exist.

Gotta think SOMETHING big was planned for him early on. True enough and I guess it was mentioned in the book. Still, the poster looks fake. I wouldn't be surprised if someone read the story in Jericho's book and made the fake poster. I could be wrong though. At any rate given the booking of time it's hard to see how Jericho would have fit into the main event. Then again it was The Attitude Era and Foley getting pushed in their didn't make all that much sense either.

Well at least he walked out of Mania 2000 with the European title. Although he lost it the next night.

The poster is not fake. That was the promotional ad poster they used for the event. One of them, at least.

He talks about in his book going from doing promos with the Rock to losing to guys like Stevie Richards and Viscera on Heat. I didn't mean that was his match at Wrestlemania haha.

They should do the All Day Long special again for Wrestlemania this year. I loved that back in 2000.

If the timed it out right the Jericho vs. Triple H dusty finish would've had Jericho Wrestlemania-ready no matter how last minute they did it.

I have a WM 2000 book that had this on the cover. It's real.

I wonder if he would've turned face, or if it would've been Big Show as a face.
Also, if Rikishi was in the match, it could maybe make some sense as to why he ran over Austin. Instead of doing it for Da Rock, he could've done it to eliminate him from title contention.
