Just wondering what people thought of these guys If by any Chance you are not aware of these guys (Which I'm sure most of you are ) They were a 5 stable Male Cheerleader group consisting of Johnny, Kenny, Mitch, Nicky and Mikey that were around in 2006 During their time they became Tag Team champions were any 2 of the 5 were allowed to defend the Titles. After awhile they ended up being dumped in a bin and sent back to OVW courtesy of DX It always looked like Kenny would be the most successful member once the gimmick was over, and for awhile it seemed that way, He was the only one to return to WWE after the gimmick ended and even defeated Ric Flair on PPV and was getting a decent push, but typical WWE style it was halted and after awhile he was released from the Company In the end the only member who really got anywhere in WWE was Nicky who ofcourse we all know better nowadays as Dolph Ziggler, the only member still in the company The other 3 were pretty much never seen again (Except for Johnny who was part of a 30 Man Battle Royal on Raw) For most part it didn't really seem to be a gimmick that got anybody anywhere really. In your opinion which members had the most potential to have successful single careers in WWE once the Spirit Squad was over and which ones do you think would do well if given another chance in the WWE?

Was a huge mark for them back then, other than the rise of Edge probably my favorite thing about WWE in 2006.

The trampoline stuff was cool. That's pretty much all I remember apart from how they kept going on and on about how young Kenny was.

They were a fun, goofy group that could get away with moments of looking like a threat due to their numbers.
The only one I ever thought had potential to break out was Kenny.

Loved 'em. Good gimmick, they were made to look like threats (Unless they were against the members of DX), The High Spirits was an awesome, if basic move and the intro to their music was great. Especially NICKYYYYYYY and MIKEYYYYYYYYYYY's enthusiasm.
Also, Dykstra had a sick legdrop.

I just found them obnoxious and dumb. They made the best out of a bad gimmick but it was still terrible.

I stopped watching WWE for a time because of the Spirit Squad (returning sometime after they dissolved).
It seemed like every single Raw ended with Spirit Squad vs. DX or some combination along those lines. And it seemed like they never got over, so they couldn't be taken seriously. They were basically the New Age Stooges, with pom poms.

It was an awful, New Generation style midcard heel gimmick and I loved every second of it. It was pure heat. Hated them. Loved every moment of them getting the shit kicked out of them.

Hated them as a unit. Not heel heat. I thought it was a pretty crappy gimmick that didn't make a lot of sense to me. That said, I thought there were some really talented pieces in there. I thought Kenny was going to be a surefire star.

I got a kick out if, and was very disappointed when Sin Cara having a double didn't somehow lead to a similarly styled stable that was just Sin Caras in a Power Rangers style thing, like the HUSTLE Rangers were.

Their craziness, the trampoline and the fact that they bumped around like crash test dummies made them extremely fun to watch. I certainly appreciate them and they made great fodder for Shawn Michaels and HHH.
It could be argued that they should have looked stronger, but that wasn't the point of the group they were there to make others look good while showing off some very unique tag team offense. In other words Spirit Squad really is the predecessor and larger version of what Ziggler is in the ring, minus the comedy gimmick.

They were fine at first, but once they became the main focus of Raw made 2006 pretty bad.

I thought it was a fun gimmick, but once they got involved with the McMahons and DX it was done. I don't think they defended the tag belts once during that whole ordeal, it made the division look weak and the champions even weaker when they regularly got their asses handed to them in 5 on 2 situations. Johnny Jeter was a severely underrated talent, I saw him work with John Morrison on a house show about 9 months after they got sent packing to OVW and couldn't understand why they didn't keep him on the main roster. Certainly didn't see the nondescript Nicky being the breakout star.

Wasn't a fan. They all played the characters well, I just personally didn't care for the gimmick.

They were fine before they became a part of the main event of the show. Also I never understood what people saw in Kenny. I always liked Johnny the best.

Loved them. It did last just the appropriate amount of time though, any longer and it would have been unbearable I think.
Also, people harp on it a lot but I thought DX shipping them off in a crate was a great ending to the characters.

They were damn good for what they were. Heat magnets. They all had redeemable qualities except for Mitch. I think he even cut a promo one time declaring that he sucked. I'm not gonna argue with the guy. One question: What ever happened to Johnny Jeter? I thought he was pretty damn entertaining.
