Who else here is stoked about seeing this? I remember back in the spring of 2012 going to see the first film in theaters. I mostly remember reading about it, talking about it being one of the best action flicks to come out in recent memory up to that point. I knew that I couldn't pass up the opportunity of seeing it and I later bought the movie on Blu-Ray. I am really looking forward to seeing it.

The fight scene with the glass lights when "dog MF" (I think that was his name" wouldn't go down, even when it was 2 on 1. Great scene. 2 questions: 1) I remember seeing a movie by the main actor, Iwo Ukwais, which I thought was Ong Bak for Indonesia. Did they ever make a sequel? 2) Is this a direct sequel to the first Raid? Or is it the type where all the same actors come back but portray different characters?

I am not sure if you mean "Merantau," but from my knowledge, I don't think a sequel has been made for that one. I still haven't seen that movie, by the way. 2. It is a direct sequel, yes. It's supposed to take place not long after the events of the first film.

It's supposed to be a sequel, with - as far as I know - only the actor of Mad Dog will come back as a different character.

Loved the first movie.
Just got back from watching this and holy shit its a whole different gravy. One of the most violent movies I can remember, but also lots of inventive fight scenes. So many moments had me grinning like an idiot. Brutal brutal brutal. Loved it.

I have already watched it and everytime I am just flushed with a HOLY SHIT look on my face because the fights ..especially {Spoiler}{Spoiler}The 3rd assasin fight in the Kitchen...THATS how every fight in film should be treated because for someone who loves guys like Scott Adkins and Michael Jai White that fight was like being hit with everything I love about action movies in a single fight.
And of course HAMMER GIRL AND BASEBALL BAT GUY.....forget keeping knives away from women...get rid of the gawd damn hammers lol.

Agreed with all your spoilered stuff. Final fight in the kitchen is a work or art. Reminded me of the flow of a great wrestling match.

I reeeeally want to see this. The first one was very good, and had no reason to be as good as it was.

If it wasn't obvious enough from my new avatar, I loved this movie. Come December I see this one still sitting in my Top 5 movies of the year. Blu-ray release can't get here fast enough.

I really hope with them doing a remake of the first movie that they listen to Gareth and cast either Michael Jai White or Scott Adkins in the lead role since he has vouched for both to wanting them in the remake.

I saw The Raid 2 today. I freaking loved it! I was disappointed by the first Raid movie (it got hyped up too much, as someone who loves Hong Kong action movies, it was good, not great), but this one was incredible. I was invested in the story as well!
