Going by this logic that other sites have better articles of their certain niches(cartoons, music, etc), wouldn't that also mean that you could also go to other sites for better wrestling articles? That will always be an issue true. In that case the powers to be should try to make a case why the main site should be the first place you go for wrestling news. Doesn't have to be better than Meltz but just an entertaining reading that is also very informative. One of the few old PPV reviews that I read where the one Sean Carless wrote on his blog. You know why? Because it made me laugh so hard while also giving me the perspective of someone who watched the events lived. I know not everybody has a great comedy skills but that surely makes reading a long article more fun which is what it's all about. Maybe do some time of live commentary during a PPV? Like have 4-6 writers chat live during a PPV so we can see their instant reaction. That might be fun to read.

Despite what I have said(at the risk of looking wishy washy) I'd like to see some more wrestling related articles. Mostly reviews of old PPVs and shows, articles about old school wrestlers, top 10 stuff. Stuff like that.
Also reviews on Wrestling DVDs and VHS tapes. Definitely this.

How about more podcasts? Just throwing a dart to see if it sticks.

I really dig the idea of a sports round table, especially since we have posters from all over the country/globe. It would be like a fan version of around the horn. I'd definitely be down to contribute on a project like that.
I do agree with what someone posted earlier about specialized content though. Why would I go to fan when I can go to a more reputable website for clear and concise information on a specific subject? We need a hook to get the casual reader in then we can surround that hook with auxiliary content.
The way I look at FAN now is that the main site is a Thanksgiving dinner without the turkey. All the sides are there we just need to figure out what the main calling card should be. I think the majority of people would say wrestling should be the main course(much like the forum) with everything else supporting it. I think we can effectively do that without turning into a Wrestlecrap ripoff. We can have weekly photoshop threads and feature the best on the main site. Our posters can be valuable resource for providing content to the main site.

Here's the thing guys. You all seem to be forgetting that wrestling is also niche as well.
So putting a heavy focus on wrestling is not going to fix the "problem" of there being too much coverage over niche things.
More coverage over sports, films, and TV shows(that aren't cartoons or wrestling) would alleviate the issue.
Focusing on wrestling will not. At best it would only make it slightly less niche.

I'm more of a lurker but I do occasionally read the site. Like what most people have been saying I think more wrestling articles would be nice but I also like the idea of doing a sports roundtable and film and TV reviews. In fact, if you were looking for one, I'd be all for writing some TV reviews.

This is huge. This is like finding out Sidney Crosby is now playing for your favorite hockey team or LeBron James is now on your favorite NBA team.

How about more podcasts? Just throwing a dart to see if it sticks. Podcasts are a nightmare to get a regular recording because of peoples lives. For example I've pitched other sites a pub quiz podcast with 3 contestants and it is a nightmare to prove that its a sustainable weekly/bimonthly thing. ...Wait a second.

BTW, is there anybody regularly covering webcomics? I thought I saw reviews for some in the beginning, but if not I'd be more than happy to write about some.

So here's an idea... if the site being nothing but stuff that doesn't interest you is such a big deal, either contribute and share about something that you DO like, or just don't read his articles. Nobody's pointing a gun at your heads here. Don't take it out on one of the few people here who does write for us. 1000x this. Don't like what Retro Sin writes? Fine, just don't read it and go make your own contribution to the site. I for one like his articles and will always read them. Now, for the topic at hand, would love more sports articles. I've always been a fan of the Top Ten Lists. Alright, I can contribute music reviews and I would love to be apart of a Wrestling themed round table. Where do I sign up?

So I had this other idea come to my head which I wanted to share: As mentioned by DeanSoDisco above, we have a Steam group here at the FAN, and sometimes I see that some of the games being played are ones that you can play for free. So I was wondering what if we did a thing where we look at different F2P games that are out right now? And I'm not just talking about games people already know about like Team Fortress 2 and Pinball Arcade, but games that may not be known like CrimeCraft: Gangwars, Forsaken World and Rusty Hearts. Would anyone be interested in something like this? Do we have enough PS+ subscribers here to do something similar with those "free" games? There's usually a title or two that gets released on every regions service at roughly the same time.

Going by this logic that other sites have better articles of their certain niches(cartoons, music, etc), wouldn't that also mean that you could also go to other sites for better wrestling articles? Serious suggestion: More video game reviews. Just quoting this, the entire post isn't directed to you but a few other posters. Because I wasn't quoted I didn't see any of this prior, but yes, my entire point was (and it wasn't a dig at anyone, just my point of view on websites needing a proper hook) is that this forum usually has the outright best analytical studies of wrestling whereas a lot of other sites have other aspects this site covers done better. And as others have said, including one of the writers, if you believe it IS good enough then that's cool too. If my words on a criticism/opinion thread are going to wound pride in a significant way though then maybe this site isn't specifically looking for honest opinions. It was simply my opinion, and on a thread asking for our opinions people getting salty over me trying to be honest after reading the site for 40 minutes, as I said in my initial post if people would get offended they could message me and I'd talk to them/correct things in my original post if it had merit. No one did that and as such I feel my post was still fair handed. I wasn't being mindlessly hateful, I was being entirely honest, and in a thread about opinions on what would make us read the site I don't see a problem with that. I apologize for hurting anyone's feelings but I do not apologize for my perspective.

I really enjoyed the Wrestletaint article. More content like that to be honest that tackles wrestling in a fun light hearted way but whilst having its own identity and being different to what wrestlecrap are doing. Not to say that more serious content doesn't have its place on the site though, but stuff like that Wrestletaint article feels more in tune to the vibe of this place and what it should be about imho
Maybe as well as having Wrestletaint articles there could also be Wrestletaint news stories posted ie shorter pieces that are similar to the Wrestletaint posts that lancers has done on here in response to Newz stories. That would mean people are viewing the site more regularly as their is content posting more often.
Other small bits and pieces as well, whatever you can think of really. Stuff that's just a few lines, that way there is some shorter content being posted in between articles daily keeping people checking the site.
Collecting the 10 best Batista photoshops was an excellent idea too (i know this has been done for a while and isn't a new thing) as it gives a snapshot of the best of that thread without consuming the time to go through pages and pages of it that not everyone has time to do (I do personally, but not everyone has as much free time)
