If TNA were dying, they wouldn't sign MVP to a contract. I hope this puts to rest the rumors of TNA's demise. WCW in their final 3 months signed the following: Air Paris AJ Styles Cash (Kid Kash) Chris Daniels (Just a tryout but was offered a deal allegedly) Jason Jett Michael Modest (Just a tryout like Daniels but was allegedly offered a deal) Road Warrior Animal Steve Corino WCW also didn't release a majority of their top names because they couldn't afford them. All because TNA is trying to stop the bleeding a little bit by signing a guy with some name value doesn't mean they're not going out of business.

I think if they were going to drop this kind of money on a relatively big former WWE Star they should have gone with Chris Masters or John Hennigan. Never seen MVP's appeal. Agreed. ESPECIALLY given how good Masters had gotten near the end of his run in the 'E, plus you have that story about him ripping up a tree to help his mom. That's an easy character hook.

Given TNA's track record, Masters will turn heel upon arrival with his new finish being the Tree Slam.

The "MVP coming to TNA " story is similar to "John Hennigan is coming to TNA" or "Sting is joining WWE to fight Undertaker at Wrestlemania". I'm past the point of caring if or when it goes down.

Not a MVP fan. He is a 1 star wrestler and a 1 star promo guy. He will want a good pay day, and there is no way TNA will profit from him.
If they are going to splash some cash around, sign John Morrison and Melina already. They are marketable.
I would also like to add a +1 for Chris Masters

I can only approve of this if he returns as Antonio Bank$. He probably will. He was there as Banks in 2004, and I don't think he's getting away with being MVP in America any time soon. Also, he's a solid worker, so once again, nice.

He should shave his head, wear an earring, and call himself Spartacus.

He should shave his head, wear an earring, and call himself Spartacus. Jim Herd, is that you? MVP sucks and him signing does nothing for me. But they do need some african american diversity, as they have Kenny King and do they even have him?

I can't figure out why Masters doesn't get more looks. After his release I've been dying to see him reinvent himself in ROH but that doesn't seem to be happening. As for MVP, he belongs in WWE if he's wrestling in America. If he wasn't interested in TNA before, there's no reason to be now.

IIRC...MVP owns his name and gimmick.
In that regard, it's good for TNA as (if they chose to) they could keep whatever value there is in MVP's character and name.
