I work about 2.5 miles from where I live so the commute is short. I'm not really looking to go out and add car payments, so am trying to figure out what kind of a vehicle I want. Bike, golf cart, or something crazy, I honestly don't know what direction to go.
So, dumb as it sounds, I'm looking for suggestions.

Unless you have to go highway, that's pretty much the perfect distance for a scooter. They typically get great MPG and cost much less than a car. It's a solid distance for a bike too, I biked to school for four years with slightly less distance than that, but you're also going much slower than the traffic and, if you don't have bike lanes, drivers tend to be pricks.

Red's point about biking, that's something I'm working up to. Not quite in good enough shape cardio-wise, though. The moped, I've wanted one for years but, honestly, I have no clue where to find one. Do they even make them anymore?

Do they even make them anymore? Yes, they do. Usually you'll find thm either in bike shops, motorcycle shops, or places that sell sporting equipment. |

Try Craigslist for a moped or cheap motorcycle.
