I mean SURE, Randy Orton is champion and all, but in kayfabe both Brock Lesnar and Batista came back just to become the Undisputed Champion. It's a pretty subtle way to hype up and put more value on the title. Even the fact that Orton's character apparently didn't realize that this would happen makes the title that more important because it allows The Authority to explain and verbalize to him (and the audience) just why everyone is gunning for him and just why the WWE World Championship is so coveted.
Now all we have to do is have fantastic title matches and I'd say spontaneously unifying the belts is a success.

I like how instead of just having 1 guy feud with the champion for what seems like an eternity, now Orton has Cena, Batista, Brock Lesnar, and potentially Bryan (if we wins the Rumble) all knocking on his door for a shot.
A great champion is someone who takes on all comers, not feuding with somebody, and oh yea, the belt just so happens to be on the line.

Haven't watched in a while, is Orton still carrying both belts or is the WHC gone now?

Haven't watched in a while, is Orton still carrying both belts or is the WHC gone now? Still both. Which made Batista pointing and saying "I came back for THAT" pretty confusing. Which one?

Now if only you didn't have Hunner and Stephanie running around talking about how Orton is only a champion by their will and stupid shit like that.

If it's only a badge that shows how much they like you then what's the point? I know it was funny when Hunner said the title was his and Orton was just his proxy, but yeesh dude... Orton should be the one running shit and they should be the ones enabling and protecting him, not this weird thing they do now where every other week they bash him for punching someone in the face or remind us once again they have the power and it's their will alone that determines the champion. Eh, people have said this a thousand times.

Yeah, regardless of how people feel towards Orton, they've done a good job with making the WWE World Heavyweight Championship itself feel important. Making it both Brock and Dave's main motivation helps boost it up a little.

Still both. Which made Batista pointing and saying "I came back for THAT" pretty confusing. Which one? He came back for THAT: He came back for Orton's boner? I guess Big Dave doesn't discriminate.
