So the situation is...
I've got a job interview tomorrow morning at 11:15. I'm supposed to be at work at 10:30. I won't get there until about 12:30, if I'm lucky. I do not want them to know I'm interviewing, because in the event that I don't get the job they'll be dicks about it and cut my hours or something. I don't want to fully call off, because I'd be screwing over people I work with that I like, and they know I have a job interview and are going to help me lie about it. So I need a good reason to be 2+ hours late to work.
Was gonna go with car stuff, it's kind of hard to mess with and I just bought one so I could be like "argh I just got it the bastard screwed me over!" and take the heat off myself. Maybe pull a "I don't feel good I can make it but I'm gonna be late" deal. But, I think I need something a little better. Anyone have any good ideas?

You need to get somebody you know who can drop you off. Say you're having car trouble. Having somebody drop you off helps make it look legit.

Wait you don't have the John Cena schedule where you can show up 2 hours late and it be ok? Are you saying that's not normal?

You tell them Deal With It but that may get you in trouble. It depends on where you are too, like I told my boss I was going to be late because the roads by me are icy and I had no where there till 12:30 she said that's fine. You could also say you're checking on a sick relative as well

You say you got a personal matter to attend to. I think you can take a few hours of time off from most places without actually giving a very specific answer(at least my job agency is like that).

Tell them you lost your smile
But seriously, any family members living nearby that go to school and could need to stay home or they need a ride to the doctor?? My go to is that my niece had to stay home from school because she is sick and my mom, sister, brother, or grandmother can't get home until whatever time and then I'll be there

You have to poop real, bad, but you just can't. Maybe I could eat a block of cheese before bed, do a little method acting. That could backfire. You might have to poop so bad that you miss the interview as well, then it would all be for nothing.

Wait you don't have the John Cena schedule where you can show up 2 hours late and it be ok? Are you saying that's not normal? You're usually not entrusted with the Cena schedule unless you avoid using any vacation days for roughly three to four years and clock in even if you're hurt or sick. As well as attend public relation meetings even if you're hurt or sick.

I personally would just call in sick altogether , I once told my boss I was going to take an extended lunch to got to the dentist. He agreed and said to just stay late or make up the hours later in the week , I went to interview - which went great. As soon as I got back to the office I got pulled in by the general manager he asked where I was , I said the dentist . He said he knew I was at xyz company for a job interview and asked why I was looking around, so I said it was the pay and the shift I was working, he immediately told as of the following month I would get the shift I wanted and he would have good news regarding the pay issue within a week. I got a $2.00 raise the following month , m-f shift & they gave an airline voucher to fly anywhere within the U.S just so I didn't leave

Doctor's appointment is good, but don't have be your own in case your current employer wants to see proof of you having been to one. Family member or friend in need of support works better.
