I'd like to know what everyones thoughts on the 90s nick tv show "Pete and Pete"?
I was watching some episodes on youtube earlier for the first time since I saw episodes on their original air dates and I've got to say it really holds up and ages well. I think the nostalgia factor is very strong as when watching the show you truly do see how much things have changed since then.

I don't remember much about the show despite watching a few episodes when I was younger.
All I can remember was that the mom had a metal plate in her head.

Good show, better theme song. I remember the wrestling one, where Big Pete beat Relentless Mike, the one with little Pete stats his own garage band, and the one where Little Pete and his friends stay up all night to protest bedtime. And Artie the worlds Strongest man.

I watched a few episodes with a friend a few years ago when Seasons 1 and 2 came out on DVD. It's still a great show.

It's really good. I enjoy it more looking back than I did when it was actually on. It doesn't feel much like a kids show, it's pretty understated and the humor has this surrealist bent to it, so it almost feels like it was designed more for a college age crowd than for kids. A big part of that is how much things have changed in the last 20 years, as 4TheGlory said. Also, the people that grew up with Nickelodeon are the tastemakers now, so that may have something to do with it.

As for The Adventures of Pete and Pete, I liked the show, it just wasn't my favorite Nickleodeon show. I remember the chubbier one was on Figure it Out a lot.

Great show. I own the 2 released seasons. The live action shows they have on Nickelodeon now are pure shit compared to this.

It had such a strange charisma. As a show, it's kind of it's own deal.
It was like a standard Wonder Years or Boy Meets World type of situation if it were written and produced by someone on indulgent amounts of doctor prescribed cough medicine.
It was poignant, it was ridiculous, it was hard to turn away from if you were in front of it.
A true piece of Nick history.

It was actually filmed right here in NJ. If I had been into acting as a kid, I probably could have landed countless opportunities to be an extra. Darn.
Oh and...DON'T EAT METAL!!!

Good show, better theme song. I remember the wrestling one, where Big Pete beat Relentless Mike, the one with little Pete stats his own garage band, and the one where Little Pete and his friends stay up all night to protest bedtime. And Artie the worlds Strongest man. Speaking of Little Pete's garage band (The Blowholes) they performed at a Pete & Pete reunion (I think the New York one). They closed out their set with "Summerbaby", which I believe is the song Little Pete had stuck in his head that caused him to form The blowholes in the first place. After the set ends everyone else from the cast comes out for the finals bows of the night. Kind of heart warming at the end to see Danny (Little Pete),Mike (Big Pete) and Alison (Ellen) just awkwardly milling about after pretty much everyone else left the stage. This show probably had one of the more well adjusted casts of any TV show ever. Which is nice when you consider all of the TV shows that had a child actor-centric cast in which things end in disaster when you consider kids growing up and not being able to deal with being "washed up" at puberty, having no sense of perspective after getting VIP treatment at such a young age during their show's run, parents taking advantage of their kids' fame and fortune, older castmates being jealous of the attention younger castmates get, etc. Also, Danny and Mike have a monthly podcast called "The Adventures of Danny & Mike" in which the beginning and end of every podcast is narrated by Mike in much the same way he did with each episode of the TV show.

'Yellow Fever' is one of the top ten episodes of television of all-time, imo.

This was a pretty awesome show. I wish I watched more episodes of it when I was younger. I remember one of the best eps I saw was the one about the the payphone that kept ringing, but everyone was too scared to answer it. That one and the one where Big Pete was the substitute bus driver, and was trying to use the bus to be alone with Ellen. I also have fond memories of them all trying to find of what Mr. Tasty looked like under his ice cream head.
