He looked pretty shit too. Obvious ring rust all the way through, awkwardly jiggling in his badly-fitting gear, spear was terrible compared to Reigns'. Basically. Sheamus came back after six months off and looked just fine, in comparison.

It was the Photoshop thread this week. WWE got wind of it, saw all the Batista love and knew what they had to do.

Of course YOU would make this thread. By all means call me out if I did something wrong here. I'm not flame-baiting or mocking other users here at all. There a bunch of Bryan support threads available for venting so giving one thread out of the thousands for the alternative perspective isn't wrong. I'm well aware that I'm in the minority here but I ain't trolling to work up the board either.

I say this as a massive Batista fan...this is some old dumb shit. Batista looked f***ing awful out there. His attire looked terrible, he moved like the old man he is and, above all, he got booed out of the building!
But oh, he popped a good rating on a show so he has to go to Mania!
Can't wait for ratings to go right back to normal as WWE wonders why nobody wants to see a washed up Batista (and, let's be frank here, it's not like he was some wrestling god when he was in his prime) fight a heatless Orton at Mania.

Guys this an appreciation thread. If you don't want to play along then find another thread to do it in.

I appreciate the anger surrounding Batista winning the Rumble.

i think they might have had more than one choice, but as soon as last week's ratings came in they have set on Batista.

WWE f***ed themselves when they advertised Batista and had to announce his return. Pretty much this. The sting of this Batista Bomb would have lessened if that arena didn't dun fudge up.

Useless trivia note, Batista's win marks the first time repeat winners have won back to back Rumbles (Cena winning his second last year, and Dave winning this second this year).

A 'face' Douchetista would help matters considerably. They need to do something to salvage things, cuz crowds are REALLY gonna turn on him, and he's shown in the past that if he's not ready for 'em to do it, he's not like Cena in that he can feed off of it.

WWE f***ed themselves when they advertised Batista and had to announce his return. Yeah, I wonder how this would have gone if Batista had been a surprise entrance. That probably would have gone over much, much better. I seen some people complain that Dave was too blown up after winning to properly celebrate. Did they all miss that he got speared immediately before he eliminated Reigns? If Punk did that everyone would have celebrated his ring psychology for selling the move even after the match was over.

Just like we're asking people to be civil in the Daniel Bryan thread, the same is requested here.

Ya know, I'm ok with this if they go the one way they could with this. Put the belt on Brock. The fans want to cheer Brock because he's a war machine built on destruction, they want to boo Dave because he's a heel with natural douche tendencies. Have Dave berate Brock about his failures in MMA compared to his "success" and how's always been a bigger star and let Brock destroy him at Mania.
Or go Batista/Orton since other matches on the card will likely overshadow it.

I miss when the Royal Rumble would be won by a rising star, World Title virgin or at least someone who hasn't won Royal Rumble. Last justified winner was Batista in 2005.
2013 - John Cena (enough said) 2012 - Sheamus (had already won the WWE championship before but it did make him bigger) 2011 - Del Rio (yes, he hasn't held the world title or a rumble but timing was terrible and nothing good came from it) 2010 - Edge (already huge) 2009 - Orton (was already huge but it did help his megavillain thing) 2008 - Cena (cool surprise though) 2007 - Taker (good result but no one really got a good push out of it) 2006 - Rey (same as Del Rio but Eddiesploitation was crap) 2005 - Batista (fighting against the heel who's been overly dominant to make a name for himself and make a new big company star and helped Cena perfectly to his first title)

he has a huge movie coming up and probably get some mainstream media. he'll have to mention about wrestling. that's probably one of the main reasons.
