Number of John Cena vs. Randy Orton TV singles matches since 2007: 17
Number of Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton TV singles matches since 2012: 13
Can someone tell me how one of these is done to death yet the other one everyone wants to see as the main event of this year's WrestleMania?
Before anyone tells me "well one's a good match" or "well I want X to be champion" then stop using the "done to death" argument as your reason for crapping on Orton/Cena

It's nothing to do with TV. Nor is it anything to do with the "norm". In the lead up to Wrestlemania, people expect a little more. I mean the WWE has made that its staple in recent years.

It's a silly argument because nobody has died yet so I'm not sure what it means. Unless they performed the match for death several times but then we would say "It's been done FOR Death" but...

I said it in the RR thread people WANT BRYAN WITH THE TITLE, NOT A MATCH WITH ORTON. ORTON. IS. HOLDING. THE. TITLE.

I don't think anyone wanted Orton/Bryan at Mania. They just want Bryan in the main event. Orton is boring the piss out of everyone.

Well from what I've seen, people just want Bryan as champion more than they particularly care to see him vs. Orton. Hell I think most would prefer a rematch with Cena, but that's not the point.
Cena/Orton is more about what it represents; two guys who for better or for worse have dominated the WWE scene for a long time, once again in a "big" match which by its nature is probably not going to be all that interesting unless their alignments were switched. HHH vs. Orton hasn't happened since 2009 and I think the crowd would probably crap on that too.

i said the other day I thought Orton was losing heat but he was a heel GOD in that match. A thing of beauty. That's how you work a crowd who are smarks for themselves. Awesome work that'll go uncredited in the fury of people pretending to be outraged that someone never won a match they were never advertised for.
