It frustrates me how wwe is practically handing tna an opportunity on a silver platter each week. If it wasn't such a clusterf***, they'd be beating the E hands down. Honestly, if tna were a company with their financial priorities in order and had decent bookings, I bet Bryan Danielson would go there and get his proper due. The same way Jericho did when he went to the wwf...but not before toiling in the midcard because of the paranoia of certain WWF main eventers wHHHose names I won't mention, jobbing to jacked up females, and when he did get his first world title, being the third wheel in the angle, not to mention not being treated like a really credible main eventer until 2008. FTFY. (Seriously, saying Jericho was an instant superstar in the WWF is seriously condensing his story, and borders on revisionist history. Heck, even Jericho said he didn't instantly get famous there, and he didn't even like his famous debut segment!)

If you want something different to WWE, seek out the indies: PWG, CZW, AIW, AAW, Beyond Wrestling. All quality stuff. Just not PWS. Anything but them. Message me, I have stories. Even better, you should just seek '80s and '90s footage. Maybe even the '70s and before.

TNA did give us an English world champion I'll give them that. I'm not sure what WWE has done for me lately.

WWE and TNA each make mistakes and screw a lot of things up. I still watch & enjoy both.

What I will say that TNA did better than WWE is listen to the fans
Both organisations had wrestlers who through sheer natural, exciting ability, had their crowds in the palms of their respective hands. WWE didn't deliver last night when everybody expected Bryan to come in at number 30 and win the Rumble. That was the moment the fans wanted.
In comparison, TNA couldn't ignore the fans' clamour for Austin Aries and pushed him to the moon, beating the company's longest serving title-holder and giving him a moment that was truly feel good and well executed.
Now, admittedly, TNA has taken more backward steps than forward steps since then, and as quoted before, TNA will always be an alternative to WWE and never a serious challenger, BUT they did the simple booking well with Aries, like WWE should have with Bryan.
All I'm saying is, when done sensibly without run-ins, briefcases on poles or other added surprises and you let good wrestling matches with decent, charismatic wrestlers have the spotlight, it can work better than swerves, the unexpected and trying to pull the wool over die-hard internet fans eyes.
Both companies have a lot to learn but if TNA keep it simple like they did with Aries, then yes Lockdown could take their opportunity and overshadow Royal Rumble.

I totally agree. It's a real shame he isn't getting to wrestle his matches without interference at the moment but that's the story they're telling and it won't last forever. I'm actually looking forward to Magnus having a proper title match, I'm dreading Batista having a one on one because after last night's showing he's going to need someone to properly carry him and sadly WWE doesn't have many of those guys left.

I'm aware that he almost considered going back to wcw and his disturbing thumb smashing scene with Chyna(and "co-intercontinental" championship). I'm guessing you had this response ready for the first person to mention Jericho. And for the record, I am not a fan of those who hhhorde the spotlight all to themselves.

Hmm, TNA may get some good will because of how blatant WWE ignoring it's fans has been? I'm looking forward to how TNA can find a way to shoot themselves in the face with this.

I'm not more thankful, I'm just as thankful for them as much as I was before the Rumble. I like TNA but they make mistakes too and although Genesis Part II was a thoroughly enjoyable show they haven't been putting out consistently good shows for over a year now. WWE completely shitting the bed with the Rumble doesn't change how I feel about TNA really. If TNA start putting on great shows I'll love them, if they keep on being bipolar I'll remain lukewarm with them, if they start putting on consistently terrible shows I'll be upset with them. What happens in WWE doesn't affect how I feel about TNA.

TNA actively makes me think one of their big wrestlers (Angle) just might die in the ring. Say what you want about the WWE lately, they don't risk their talent like that.

Seriously, it's at the point where I kinda want TNA to go out of business just because of how freaking scummy they are with their talent. You cannot look at that Angle moonsault and tell me anybody in this company gives a f*** about the guys performing on the shows.

If you made this post back in the summer of 2012 I would have been with ya but now...........they pretty much have (most) of the same problems creatively that WWE has in the moment.

Just because a turd is next to a slightly smellier turd doesn't mean the turd is no longer a turd.

If you're going to write an entire company off, a company that regularly gives 4 and 5 star matches on TV every week, based on the outcome of a Rumble match, you're welcome to "thank God" for TNA.
I can't even believe this thread exists.

I can't even believe this thread exists. I have not enjoyed WWE since Summerslam 2012. That's a year and a half waiting for things to get better. WrestleMania 30 might be the last PPV that I order from them.

I wish WWE and TNA had a tradeing treaty or something so we could swap Rob Terry for Bad Gimmick Barrett.
