I've been doing some thinking lately about this whole storyline with Daniel Bryan. He just keeps getting screwed, on screen and seemingly off, by the authority and now CM Punk has apparently quit. So we have the two long time favorites of the IWC both getting the short end of the stick. Now it's most likely that Punk's leaving isn't part of a storyline but what if it is? It could be the start of the biggest storyline in company history, just picture it.
CM Punk quits, Daniel Bryan gets buried, Dolph Ziggler is forgotten about, and slowly but surely other IWC favorites and guys the smark crowds love get buried and banished to the undercard, or just flat out quit. It slowly becomes a company of Batista, Cena, Orton, etc. all of whom are "best for business" but the crowd can't stand. It goes on like this for a few months until we start getting cryptic messages on the big screen about someone or something arriving soon. This goes on for weeks while the "best for business" guys are on all the shows and holding all the titles. The New Age Outlaws are the tag champs, Orton is the world champion, Big E is the IC champ, Del Rio is US champ, and even though some of them are faces the crowd really isn't all that into them.
At Summerslam the cryptic messages show up again and the lights go out while the Authority is celebrating in the ring, followed by some type of epic music and all the IWC favorites, Punk, Ziggler, Bryan, Cody Rhodes, etc. coming down the ramp, led by Shane Mcmahon. Over the next six months or so a power struggle would ensue between Shane and HHH/Steph with Shane being the backer of the IWC guys and HHH/Steph being the backers of the "best for business" guys.
The whole thing would culminate at WM 31 with a winner takes all match between Bryan/Punk/Ziggler/Rhodes/Shane vs Cena/Orton/Batista/Del Rio/HHH for control of the company.
I really just want this entire thing leading SOMEWHERE and this seems like a logical direction to take it, especially because I've wanted to see Shane come back for a while now. Of all the Mcmahon family he's easily the one that annoys me the least when he's on screen.
