The public letter basically begins like this:
"So what is your favorite Woody Allen movie? Before you answer, let me inform you that when I was 7 he ****ed me."
How Woody Allen can't blow his own brains out knowing this exists is astonishing.

"A world that celebrates her tormenter."
O rly? Ask the average person what they think of Woody Allen and you might just be surprised.

Never seen a Woody Allen movie because I just didn't care to, but I'm sure as hell not going to now.
Piece of shit.

Speaking as someone who enoyed Zelig, Mighty Aphrodite and Radio Days, it's been obvious the guy's a creepy little shit for a while.

Considering the molestation claims were first brought up when Allen and his wife were divorcing, I'm rather suspicious about these accusations. Seems to me like it could be a case of one parent brainwashing their kid to make the other one look bad. Accusing the father of sexually abusing the kids and coercing them into saying so is sadly VERY frequent. And considering the police-appointed medical team came to the conclusion that she "either invented the story under the stress of living in a volatile and unhealthy home or that it was planted in her mind by her mother", I think we really shouldn't be judging without any solid evidence.

Woody Allen movies just entered Benoit match territory for me. To bad as I really liked Annie Hall.

"Justice Wilk, however, questioned the manner in which the Yale-New Haven team carried out its investigation of the allegations, as well as conclusions by two psychotherapists who treated Dylan that she had not been abused. 'I am less certain, however, than is the Yale-New Haven team, that the evidence proves conclusively that there was no sexual abuse,' Justice Wilk wrote. The justice said he believed the conclusions of the psychotherapists had been 'colored by their loyalty to Mr. Allen.' He added that the unwillingness of members of the Yale-New Haven team to testify at the trial, except through a deposition by the team leader, and the destruction of the team's notes had 'compromised my ability to scrutinize their findings and resulted in a report which was sanitized and, therefore, less credible.'" www.nytimes.com/books/97/02/23/reviews/farrow-verdict.html

His entire relationship with Soon-Yi is pretty solid evidence his boundaries are f***ed up. Does it mean he abused Dylan? No, but I don't see prosecutors ready to proceed if they didn't think there was something there.

Honestly can't judge it one way or the other.
If he did it, then he's a scumbag.
If she's lying, then she's a scumbag.

I don't think she has any reason to lie so many years later, I'm inclined to believe she's telling the truth and Woody Allen is a horrible person.

Theres a thing called "innocent until proven guilty" but I guess that doesn't apply in all cases...

Theres a thing called "innocent until proven guilty" but I guess that doesn't apply in all cases... There's also "where there's smoke, there's fire". No can say for certain he did anything, but one can think given the statements and what has been recorded that he probably did.

This is an awkward situation, because it's not like Polanski where he was convicted. This is a lot more murky, as it appears like there's evidence backing up both sides. And I like a few of Allen's movies (hell, Midnight in Paris and Blue Jasmine are two of my favorites of the past few years), but he's definitely a creepy dude. So for me it'll always be up in the air, because nobody outside of Allen and the Farrows actually know what happened.

He's a creepy asshole, so I wouldn't be entirely surprised if it were true. I'm inclined to believe it is on principle.
