Wonderlocke Update. First Badge Obtained, moving onto Second, Current Party: Lvl 19 Growlithe, Current Moveset: Reversal (Until he learns Fire Fang), Close Combat, Crunch, Heat Wave (Aquired Fire Stone in Lumoise, will evolve when ready) Lvl 19 Inkay. Current Moveset: Peck, Foul Play, Psywave, Reflect Lvl 18 Scyther. Current Moveset: Vaccum Wave, Cut, Pursuit, Night Slash Lvl 19 Murkrow. Current Moveset: Wing Attack, Astonish, Pursuit, Haze Lvl 18 Pancham. Current Moveset: Comet Punch, Karete Chop, Arm Thrust, Work Up Lvl 20 Flaffy. Curent Moveset: Take Down, Thundershock, Agility, Thunder Wave Box: Lvl 19 Eevee, Lvl 1 Gastly, Lvl 10 Fennekin, and Lvl 1 Swablu. Teams pretty solid right now. May grind up Gastly and Swablu using some skipped trainers on routes, both are pretty much gonna be a swap in if a team member goes down. Pretty locked in, feeling good about the Second Gym but I wont Jinx anything. Aside from having a stroke at every Critical Hit your team takes, a Wonderlocke is great, especially when you receive new Pokémon and think about what to do with them

Oh man crits make my heart skip a beat during my Nuzlocke.
Speaking of, my current run is by far the furthest I've made it into the game(I'm at Team Flare's Lab).
Got a good team going right now(Blastoise, Bellossom(yes on back to back Nuzlocke runs I got an Oddish, this one a girl I named Floraline), Drapion(Hello Psychic immunity!), Dugtrio, Pyroar(a male, btw), and Hariyama).
My Blastoise and Bellossom are actually overleveled right now, both in the mid 50s while everyone is throwing high 30s and low 40s at me.
Getting a bit ahead of myself, but if I beat this I'm thinking of doing a Wonderlocke or even a Little Cup Locke(basically a Nuzlocke, but you can only catch and use Pokemon that can evolve that are in their lowest evolved state, and you can't evolve them).

If I recall I had a Rotom, a Venomoth (Who actually proved to be a great teammate), and a few other strong pokes.

I'm too chicken to try any of the 'lockes, mostly because I'm not into the "lose once and its over" concept. Though I'm usually the kind of gamer who likes his New Game+ to carry over experience but not more challenges so I can enjoy the story. I personally play the game regularly, and when I'm done, I don't delete my save, instead relishing in my accomplishments. Anybody else play this way? I do. However, that has always applied to only the first game I bought per Generation. My first run of Platinum and Y will remain, which is also why I want to get X so I can 'locke whenever I want. Wonderlocke Update. First Badge Obtained, moving onto Second, Current Party: Lvl 19 Growlithe, Current Moveset: Reversal (Until he learns Fire Fang), Close Combat, Crunch, Heat Wave (Aquired Fire Stone in Lumoise, will evolve when ready) Lvl 19 Inkay. Aside from having a stroke at every Critical Hit your team takes, a Wonderlocke is great, especially when you receive new Pokémon and think about what to do with them You got a Murkrow too?! I've always loved Murkrow, and still prefer it over Honchkrow, especially ever since they made the Prankster ability exclusive to Murkrow. Lucky! Speaking of, what are your teams abilities? I personally would have kept that Eevee for a Vaporeon or Espeon, but hey, Mega Ampharos sounds good too.

Wonderlocke Update. Second Badge Obtained! Current Party with Abilities as requested: Lvl 28 Growlithe, Ability: Flash Fire. Current Moveset: Fire Fang, Close Combat, Crunch, Heat Wave (Aquired Fire Stone in Lumoise, will evolve when ready) Lvl 28 Inkay. Ability: Contrary. Current Moveset: Payback, Foul Play, Psybeam, Reflect Lvl 27 Scyther. Ability: Swarm. Current Moveset: Fury Cutter, Cut, Wing Attack, Night Slash Lvl 27 Murkrow. Ability: Prankster. Current Moveset: Wing Attack, Night Shade, Assurance, Haze Lvl 28 Pancham. Ability: Mold Breaker. Current Moveset: Slash, Vital Throw, Rock Smash, Strength Lvl 28 Flaffy. Ability: Static. Current Moveset: Take Down, Thundershock, Agility, Electro Ball PC: Lvl 19 Eevee. Ability: Adaptability. Current Moveset: Baby-Doll Eyes, Swift, Quick Attack, Bite (I thought about Vaporeon, but due to it being Level 19 it lost out on Water Pulse, so I was waiting until the possibility of acquiring another Eevee, or going to the move tutor. Lvl 10 Fennekin. Ability: Blaze. Current Moveset: Scratch, Tail Whip, Ember Lvl 1 Gastly. Ability: Levitate. Current Moveset: Hypnosis, Lick Lvl 10 Skiddo. Ability: Sap Sipper. Current Moveset: Tackle, Growth, Vine Whip, Tail Whip Lvl 1 Swablu. Ability: Natural Cure. Current Moveset: Peck, Growl. Lvl 20 Omanyte. Ability: Shell Armor. Current Moveset: Bite, Water Gun, Rollout, Leer Lvl 1 Anorith. Ability: Swift Swim. Current Moveset: Rapid Spin, Aqua Jet, Knock Off, Cross Poison. Lvl 1 Litwick. Ability: Infiltrator. Current Moveset: Embeer, Astonish, Heat Wave Lvl 1 Magikarp. Ability: Swift Swim. Current Moveset: Splash Lvl 22 Wobbuffet. Ability: Shadow Tag. Current Moveset: Gyro Ball, Wake-Up Slap, Mimic, Hyper Voice Lvl 1 Amaura. Ability: Refrigerate. Current Moveset: Growl, Powder Snow Lvl 1 Roggenrolla. Ability: Sturdy. Current Moveset: Tackle, Wide Guard, Automize, Gravity Deaths: None CurrentlyAs you can see, I am LOADED. No deaths yet. It came really close with the second Gym though. Amaura with a Take Down on my Inkay nearly killed it, but Inkay came through! Any advice on my team? If one of my team members goes down, who should be the one I grind up and add to the team? Plenty of takers in my Box right now. Again I have to restate, aside from the Nuzlocke Rules, this is ALOT of fun. A Wonderlocke is great fun, especially for the unpredictability and the Pokémon you can wind up getting. Been quite a ride so far

Screw it, I recently just bought HG, I'll make that my new casual playthrough, and restart Y to attempt a Wonderlocke. No point of buying ANOTHER Pokemon game so soon, especially with ORAS around the corner.

Current Moveset: Tackle, Wide Guard, Automize, Gravity Lvl 11 Honedge. Ability: No Guard. Current Moveset: Tackle, Swords Dance, Fury Cutter, Metal Sound Lvl 58 Gengar. Ability: Levitate. Current Moveset: Dream Eater, Dark Pulse, Destiny Bond, Hex (Will be getting him Hypnosis back at the Move Tutor very soon, also have Gengarite, so he's a sure fire swap in) Lvl 1 Pichu. Ability: Static. Current Moveset: Thunder Shock, Charm, Encore, Fake Out Lvl 50 Amoonguss. Ability: Effect Spore. Current Moveset: Toxic, Synthesis, Protect, Solar Beam (Another swap in possibly) Lvl 3 Raichu. Ability: Static. Current Moveset: Tail Whip, Thunder Shock Lvl 1 Buizel. Ability: Swift Swim. Current Moveset: Tackle Lvl 30 Petilil. Ability: Chlorophyll. Current Moveset: Magical Leaf, Stun Spore, Giga Drain, Aromatherapy Lvl 1 Vaporeon. Ability: Hydration. Current Moveset: Surf, Synchronize, Wish, Yawn (Aquired another Eevee through Wonder Trade, used a Water Stone, and gave it Surf. A possible swap in if needed Deaths: Still None CurrentlyMy team is just doing nothing but the finest of work. And I like it because I never really used any of these guys, except Malamar an Ampharos, on a consistent basis. Murkrow almost died in the Fairy Gym from a Dazzling Gleam to the Sylveon, but Murkrow held on, and then learned Tailwind. I have plans for that move, setup, switch Ampharos in, Agility, Electro Ball = Get WRECKED Only thing is I worry about Murkrows Defense as the game goes. I haven't found a Dusk Stone yet and if anyone knows where one is let me know. I like Murkrow as is but Honchcrow I know will take hits better. So if the chance is there I want to take it. Still don't want to Jinx anything but I am shocked none of my team have died yet. Malamar (As Inkay) an Murkrow have come the closest, but they've hell on and they're still here! My Wonerlocke is going great, and seeing other Wonderlocke Playthroughs, I become very appreciative of the Team I was able to obtain early on in this game. But that's the Beauty of Unpredictability! If you havent tried a Wonderlocke, seriously, I still recommend it. You may use Pokémon you haven't used, get used to them, and maybe like them even more then you did before, especially when they put in work like this team has

You can get a Dusk Stone from a Team Flare goon in Lavarre City. He's near the Gengarite lady.

Let Murkrow hold Eviolite. It'll raise both of Murkrow's defensive stats by one stage.

So I decided to buy X after all, but digital. Started a Wonderlocke, just beat Viola, here's my current team:
Roggenrola - Lv. 13 - Moves: Headbutt, Sand Attack, Harden, Gravity Murkrow (sadly no Prankster, but Super Luck is pretty decent) - Lv. 15 - Moves: Haze, Roost, Wing Attack, Assurance Goomy - Lv. 7 - Moves: Tackle, Bubble, Absorb Snubbull - Lv. 21 - Moves: Charm, Bite, Lick, Fire Blast (will switch out with 7th Pokemon)
And the newest addition to the team... Magikarp? ...Lv. 1 - Moves: Splash
So far, not bad. Glad to have gotten Murkrow (despite no Prankster, which means I'll most likely evolve it) and Goomy, who I hope to keep. Roggenrola has been pretty good so far, unfortunately I won't be able to evolve it to Gigalith since it's via trade (or can I? Is that allowed?).
And yeah, I've got Magikarp, but this only means I have the biggest challenge yet; keeping this thing alive long enough to become a Gyarados. The payoff will be worth it.
This has been really fun so far, I get this little feeling of hype right before I find out who I get in every trade.

This has been really fun so far, I get this little feeling of hype right before I find out who I get in every trade. That's an awesome start. I wouldn't rule out switching Snubbull, if it knows Intimidate, now that it's part Fairy, it can be a pretty nice tank when it evolves
I also got a Level 1 Magikarp in my Wonderlocke, but haven't used it because my Team is just stacked at the current time.
An yes, there is such a hype about what you could possibly get. When I got that Clawitzer I about screamed. I rock smashed for a good hour to get Heart Scales and Max out it's moveset (Crabhammer, Aura Sphere, Dragon Pulse, Surf now). I have never used one, as I always had Y, so I love this thing. An my Gengar knows Dazzling Gleam now on top of Dark Pulse and Hypnosis/Dream Eater, my team has a coverage for about everything but Bug as I swapped out Scyther (and Pangoro) for Clawitzer and Gengar, but they're there if a team member goes down.

Held Item: Black Belt Lvl 50: Xerneas. Ability: Fairy Aura, Current Moveset: Gravity, Geomancy, Moonblast, Megahorn Deaths: None CurrentlySwapped out Scyther an Pangoro. Love them, they put in great work, and they are my go to swap outs, but Clawitzer an Gengar are way too good right now, and have better type coverage an all around stats. Also found an Eviolite for my Murkrow who is just the little trouble maker on my team right now. Tailwind setup for Ampharos, and it's Nasty Fly Attack. It works hard and Murkrow definitely earned a lot of respect from me from this Locke. No one has died yet still, an Lysandre was a pain at one point. His final battle was a breeze until his Honchcrow. Was setting up Tailwind and two Agilities for my Electro Ball Ampharos because I knew his Mega Gyrados would be after his Honchcrow. His Honchcrow's Night Slash decided it would crit my Ampharos 5 STRAIGHT TIMES, EVEN WITH STATIC. So I got stuck in a Heal Trap for a bit. What an ass... but the whole team lived. Clawitzer also took a Hyper Voice crit from Pyroar which took him own to the low yellow, glad Surf also crit... Used the Master Ball on Xerneas because I have no desire to catch Zygarde, and Mewtwo will be post Locke. I figured I'd just use it an avoid what would have been a pain in the ass catch an a sure fire kill trying to catch that damn thing with it setting up a Geomancy/Moonblast on my ass. No thank you. So onto the 8th Badge I go. Loving my Locke, my team is so powerful and I owe that all to some really lucky an awesome draws on Wonder Trade, I hope that for others who try this, that luck is on your side in Wonerlocke's as well! Because for me, I honestly don't think that this could have gone better for me so far

So I decided to buy X after all, but digital. Started a Wonderlocke, just beat Viola, here's my current team: Roggenrola - Lv. 13 - Moves: Headbutt, Sand Attack, Harden, Gravity Murkrow (sadly no Prankster, but Super Luck is pretty decent) - Lv. 15 - Moves: Haze, Roost, Wing Attack, Assurance Goomy - Lv. 7 - Moves: Tackle, Bubble, Absorb Snubbull - Lv. 21 - Moves: Charm, Bite, Lick, Fire Blast (will switch out with 7th Pokemon) And the newest addition to the team... Magikarp? ...Lv. 1 - Moves: Splash So far, not bad. Just turn the EXP Share on and sit back as you get a Gyarados with no hassle. I was having a hard time deciding whether to use EXP Share or not, but I just didn't want to split exp with the whole team. I guess I'll wait until the rest of the team are a little more closer in level, before turning it on. For now, I'll gain exp for Magikarp the old-fashioned way; putting it in lead and then switching it out. So I decided to buy X after all, but digital. I wouldn't rule out switching Snubbull, if it knows Intimidate, now that it's part Fairy, it can be a pretty nice tank when it evolves If the whole team can get to around 19-20 before I encounter the 7th wild Pokemon, I'll keep it.
