Depends on what you need. Tentacruel is a good one, as a fast special wall with decent offenses and good support options, and Nidoking, particularly with Sheer Force, is quite easy to use, given his hilariously robust movepool. And of course Crobat - Zubat's terrible at first, but it becomes usable when it becomes Golbat and it should evolve again very soon after that. Indeed, though Golbat with Eviolite might be okay, but is probably not worth the effort. Venusaur, obviously, is a pretty solid choice. Skuntank is fantastic for ruining certain pokemon, but struggles against most other things. Seviper might be pretty decent on a Trick Room team, but it is probably outclassed there, even.

FINALLY got to battling the Elite Four. Half of them where pretty troublesome (Wikstrom, Drasna), the other half weren't much. Then came the Champ, Diantha. I was expecting a frustrating challenge, as I should be feeling. Mega Blastoise proceeds to sweep exactly half of her team without fainting. Goodra was close (thanks to like 4 f***ing Full Restores (4 Full Restores, Elite 4, I get it)), but Mega Blastoise hung in there. Aegislash survived a Shadow Ball from Mega Gardevoir, giving him a chance to get a single Swords Dance, before Shadow Sneaking his way for the win. I couldn't believe I beat her on the first try. It was a little underwhelming, but I'm just glad I completed the main game. Squirtle avatar is for the MVP, Mega Blastoise. Whereas on my first playthrough of the Elite 4, Wikstrom was a complete joke once he got Probopass out there (Blaziken+Mega Stone+Power-Up Punch+Full Restore= Sweep). The only one I had trouble with was Siebold, mainly because I had no quick Pokemon that could take Gyarados. I also shared the same experience with Diantha. Mega Blaziken was able to wreck face, including one-shotting Mega Gardevoir with a Flare Blitz. I actually fought off Gyarados with Malamar; Contrary is so f***ing useful. Gyarados' Intimidate + Superpower + Attract = Victory. That's right, I remembered how effective Attract was because of my frustrating battles with Whitney and that demon cow named Miltank, so I gave it to my female Malamar and it made Gyarados its bitch. Diantha's Goodra was a bit of a pain because of those Full Restores, and all it did was spam Dragon Pulse. All Mega Blastoise could do was take those DPs without healing, and spamming Ice Beam in return.

Hatched 2 shiny Froakies while breeding for IVs. Brings the total number of shinies I've bred to 10.

So I spent the day catching Dittos with different natures so that I can have them hold an Everstone and breed with the nature I want. It was frustrating at times because I would False Swipe them, and they would break out of every goddamn ball I threw at them except the Timer Ball, which almost became the "Master" Ball.
Anyways, I'm glad breeding is going to be a lot easier now. Already working on a specialty team, and I got a Chimchar with Pokerus from the GTS, so this shouldn't feel extremely tedious.

Training an Ambipom with metronome because using conventional pokemon has never been my style. I had one in Platinum with Technician. it served me well. odd looking tho.

Huh. Hatched a Fennekin with 6 perfect IVs before I got one with 5 perfect IVs. Hatched 2 shiny Froakies while breeding for IVs. Brings the total number of shinies I've bred to 10. are you kidding me? I have hatched over 5 boxes of staryus and not one shiny! Sometimes it happens quickly, other times it doesn't. Even with the Masuda Method, it's all just luck.

Did they change something this generation where if you're breeding a Pokemon with Ditto, the offspring will always be born with the parent's ability? Because I'm trying to breed a male Scyther w/Technician, and I have a male Scyther w/Swarm and a Ditto with an Everstone in the Day Care. Now last I remember how this worked, the ability chosen would be at random, so eventually I would get my Technician Scyther. Instead, I get nothing but the same Scyther w/Swarm, even with the same trait as the parent. Every time. I tried something different, and bred two eggs at once, and both came out as male Scythers w/Swarm (although one of them did have a different trait).
What's the deal? Do I just need a Scyther w/Technician as the parent in order for the baby to have Technician instead?

Ran into yet another shiny while Horde EV Training.
This time it's a Seviper, and THANK GOD it wasn't the one Zangoose of the bunch. She even has her hidden ability which is cool I suppose.

Finally took the time to beat the single battle challenge at the battle maison. Guess I should take the time to finish the other challenges. Although I can probably get a lot more battle points doing the battle institute. Of course the battle institute is CHEAP as hell lol.

Fathers now have a higher chance to pass down abilities SPECIFICALLY if the mother is a Ditto, probably so getting hidden abilities from friend safari onto babies would be easier.

So my team is starting to form:
Noivern, Excadrill, Gardevoir, (Protean)Greninja, Ferrothorn and "? ? ?"
That "? ? ?" is trickly. I'm considering Mienshao or Scizor. I've always been a fan of Scizor, but that would make three pokemon total in my team with a weakness or a double-weakness to fire. I like Mienshao, but it's quite the glass cannon.

^ Because Ice-type pokemon are not used very much? They just stall forever. They set up a substitute, toxic orb activates to heal, then protect to get more life back. I have a Cloyster on my team, and a Ludicolo with Ice Beam and I can't touch them. Does Roar or Dragon Tail work on subs??

Well that's gonna be both helpful and annoying at times. Thanks.
