Since he debuted in 2002, I've counted 9 times he's been out with either an injury or suspension.
I wonder who would win in a match between him and Christian.

Admittedly, Christian didn't really get injury prone until a couple of years ago when he tore his pectoral. He only had the one injury during his first WWE tenure (four months out with a back injury in 2004), and none of note in TNA.

As someone who has had nine operations on his knees, including having metal bolts in the right one, I totally sympathise with Rey as it's a tricky position to be in. Once, you've been through the operation side of things and successfully completed your rehabilitation, you genuinely believe you will be at the same level you were before. To a point it's psychological, you DON'T want to think you have to take it easy. Therefore, you try to go straight back in at the same level and almost immediately put yourself back on the shelf. I was a soccer player here in the UK of a reasonably high standard, and training to be a wrestler. When doctors told me that it was very unlikely I'd ever compete at that level again, I turned a deaf ear and decided to try to participate anyway, once again ending up in hospital.
This was nearly two years ago, and I now accept it, though it hit me hard mentally.
I fear Rey and a lot of sportsmen, do the same. Part of it is pride, wanting to only retire/stop when they want to and not wanting someone else to tell them when to, the other part is because as soon as it's over you don't know what to do with your life.
My knees give me constant grief every day and I wouldn't wish the same on anyone. With this latest injury, I hope Rey can see this as the end and maybe take time to heal, before maybe coming back in a training capacity and handing his legacy to Dominick. Otherwise I fear we'll see another once great wrestler, who didn't know when to stop, being crippled in later life.

Come on Rey
You've had a pretty damn successful Career
- Held almosty every title Possible
- Won the Royal Rumble (Even have the longest lasting time)
- Headlined Wrestlemania
All your doing now a days is either being thrown in 6 Man Taqs or tapping out to Del Rios Cross Armbreaker
Other than that I think you've earned your Retirement, Pretty much guarantied your Hall of Fame spot (Unless ofcourse you go all Chris Benoit (Balls))
But than again I'm not your Dad and can't tell you what to do.

I almost feel bad to say that, but I hope he'll never recover from this one.

Can we progress from the KNEE being dead and just skip ahead to zombified? As such, is that why he wears the pants to prevent the knee for biting the other superstars and zombifying their knees?

How does this man keep passing the physical?
I feel bad for the guy. He wouldn't keep coming back if he didn't enjoy what he did. Hopefully he's well off financially and can afford to walk away (while he still can).

When your body goes, there isn't much you can do about it. No need to put yourself at risk Rey.

Rey will be regarded as the greatest luchadore in North America who helped popularised that style of wrestling and has been a mainstay and popular face of the WWE. He deserves the accolades but nobody should put wrestling above their overall health. Mysterio is nearly 40. He doesn't need to prove anything else to the fans.

From another SD report I read. So maybe there's a reason why Rey wasn't on an injury report?

I agree with everyone to says he needs too retire. He has nothing else too prove. I hate seeing him not be what he once was in the ring and him getting hurt ALL the time. I swear he like doing it too break Kevin Nash's record in how many knee surgeries a man can have. Which is not a good record too chase. The match with Sin Cara isn't happening because Sin Cara isn't being pushed that way and Hunico isn't the reason that match was at one time a big match.

At this point he should have a 3 hour RAW dedicated to his knees with people show pictures of his knees. Be awarded a diamond kneebrace and ride off into the sunset with both Sin Caras.

At a certain point, one has to wonder if Rey's tenacity to stay wrestling despite his injuries is because of passion or because of ego. It's a question that has to be asked whenever a guy like Rey gets to the point he's at. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it crosses one's mind.

But he saved his money and he's a big enough name to just do indies for a considerable payday. Hell, why not follow in El Santo's footsteps and do movies.
