As I have mentioned in previous posts over the past year and half I've been dealing with depression but oddly enough since now that it seems to coming right I've come to somewhat slightly troubling realization being that a small but decent chunk of my friends are total f***ing dropkicks who are more trouble than their worth as they do dumb shit which that pisses off everyone and gets me or other people in trouble.
A good example happened last week as my missus went out of town so I hosted a movie marathon and invited some people around. One of my work underlings (who I'll call Lisa) brought her 17 year old sister along and her sister had been drinking and got drunk so I told her that she could crash on my bed for a bit. A couple of hours later I drove another guest home and when I got back I heard shouting.. So I rushed in and saw Lisa had just kicked one of my mates in the groin. Turns out that when I was out he went into my room (even though when I have people over etc I make it quite clear that other rooms are out of bounds unless me or missus say so) and saw Lisa's sister on the bed and decided to take some up skirt photos with his phone of her only to get caught by Lisa and all hell broke lose so I kicked the guy out and told him to leave or else. A few days he rang me up and asked what the big deal was so I spent a good 5 or 10 minutes having to explain a man who is almost 30 that why taking upskirt photos of a passed out teenaged girl is gross and unacceptable behavior but I had enough and just hung up on the stupid bastard I figured I was going to lose too many brain cells dealing with him.
But this is what got me thinking is how this whole friends stick by each other no matter what is a load of unrealistic bullshit as surely there is a point where a mate is just not worth the hassle and should be OK to ditch him until he gets his head out of his arse. Not to mention I can't help but feel that this sort of mindset leads to enabling all sorts of shitty behavior from people.
Surely I'm not the only person who feels this way and has everyone else even just gone f*** it I don't want to see you again to a friend of sorts.
