I've wanted a Harvick championship ever since he took over from Dale Sr.
I'm almost as happy as I could be.

Anyone have the non bullshit chase points list? Was wondering who is (to me anyway) the real champ. Nevermind saw Gordon would now be a 7 time champ.
Might just be done with this sport. In team sports you need a play off to determine a champion because you can only play one other team in each contest.
In racing every race is like a season, you compete against the whole league. Every race is a championship. If you want to crown a champion then every race should have the same value because you’re competing against the same field (90%+) in every race.
Artificial manipulations of sport, like the chase, gain attention in the short term. But for all the buzz the majority of chase races are down year over year in ratings.

Congrats now to Erica Enders-Stevens. She has become the first female to become NHRA Pro Stock World Champion. Now all we need is the first ever female Funny Car World Champion. Looking at you, Alexis DeJoria.

I think you'll like it. Be honest, I did for a long time. Mears, Fittipaldi and the like. Was a big fan of it before and after the Nascar boom of the 90s, just kinda fell out of watching it when it got to hard too find on TV each year. Hell I remember Mansell's "rookie" year and shedding a tear when Greg Moore crashed. (kinda had that feeling soon as it happened what the result was). Maybe next year. Hell get back into F1 too. Was at the first 2 Indy F1 races. Remember playing "golf" during final practice on the infield course. Basically consisted of our drunk asses throwing the ball and you had to kick it on the greens.

Even though I'm okay with Happy Harvick winning and glad to see him get one after this long, the Chase can suck it. I remember back when I first started watching Nascar in 1996, how much everyone was applauding Terry Labonte's consistency for being able to take the championship with 2 wins vs Gordon's 10. You'd never hear anything like that now and if anything people were savaging Newman for the possibility that he might have won with no victories cause "racing is 'bout winning, not doing well" and you have people suggesting only giving points to the podium or going for F1-style points.
I swear, this "If you ain't first, you're last" mentality has got to go.

The NASCAR finale was better than any football game today. Harvick ruled this Sunday

Now in a perfect world that I would enforce, you would run a certain amount of races and would get points bassed on how you finish, and who ever has the most points at the end wins the championship. But that is just nonsense. .

I stopped watching Nascar when the chase first started I though it was near perfect they way it was and reading up on this season with the elimination style chase it just sounded like an awful way to handle it.

From most of what I've read, pretty much the only people that seem to like the elimination-style Chase are the people with the power to change it.

Along with the final race of the F1 season, this weekend also sees the next Formula E race taking place in Malaysia. So, for anyone who watched the first race, what did you think of it, and will you be watching this weekend?
I did watch the first one and while it wasn't the most interesting of races (apart from the spectacular crash at the end), I'll probably give it another shot. Hopefully the lack of excitement was nothing to do with it being a street circuit, since I believe every race is a street circuit, and although I can understand it from a safety point, I wasn't a fan of the whole enforced delay thing when changing cars.

I'm sorry, I got really bored. But they do say Nascar is the motor racing version of the WWE Anyone? I especially like JG Punk.
