I like Gunner because he served my country during the War On Terror.

His promo in the ring with James Storm a few weeks back was actually pretty good.

I like the guy. He's not the greatest wrestler but I don't really recall too many botches. His promo skills aren't that bad even though I think he might need develop more of a character besides just being intense. Solid midcard hand for helping big stars, or tag team champion material.

I'd start to like him if he began referring to his opponents before/during the match as the Gunn-ee.

Guns don't kill people, Gunner does. Gunner kills people, with guns.

Having actually spoken to him, and seen him in NON-TNA events.....He's over, and he CAN connect to an audience, but TNA just gives him horrible stuff to work with.

He's the victim of shitty TNA booking - if he was given the time to develop over the last year or so consistently, then he may have a chance. For now, he's being thrust into the ME spotlight without the credibility to back it up. It's why TNA *really* needs some sort of legit midcard title.

I was impressed by how much he has improved when he had that promo with James Storm.
The material was super cheesy, but I looked past that and focused on the delivery. Give him better lines and we could have a new star!

He's always just been there and has no real credibility thakns to a tag title reign that never really had enough legit opposition. Now we're supposed to buy him as a main eventer.

Sometimes you have to take a risk. Plenty of superstars have proved themselves with trial by fire. Take a look at Magnus, his promo skills have grown exponentially since gaining the world title.

Having seen him elsewhere as Phil Shatter, he is a very likeable babyface. Give him something to fight for and change his name from friggin' Gunner.

As an Arsenal fan I like Gunner's name. Assuming Gunner knows of Arsenal's existence I'm sure he would be a fan.

Yeah, a lot of the backlash against him was that he showed up as essentially a non-entity (security for Immortal?), then suddenly he was near the top of the BFG series a few years back and we had no idea why we were supposed to buy into him.
He's never been offensive in the ring, he seems like he's at least capable of speaking and getting himself across decently, but they need to give him a solid midcard feud that highlights who he is and why fans should care about him.
Shocking to think that they've never actually done that with him so far.

Oh.my.god....a gunner appreciation thread. I thought I'd never see this.
I have liked Gunner since he first showed up with Murphy. Dudes got an awesome look and ain't bad in the ring. His promos are mediocre but he can improve.
Also I got my sons name from him. And Dolph Lundgrens Expendables Character.

Honestly, my problem with him has nothing to do with jokes. All jokes aside, I really do think he is straight trash. Like, one of the worst wrestlers in either major promotion.
