So, Wow! Dude put up an article about the creepiest urban legends in the history of gaming, and, while I won't tell you what number one is, it shouldn't be hard to figure out considering this game shows up as frequently on game urban legend lists as The Beatles show up on most influential bands lists.
Anyway, it got me to thinking about Polybius, which is a game that almost everybody has heard about, but if you haven't, here's a great video on it.
I'm sure we've had threads about Polybius before, and I might have even started one before, but what the hell; let's talk about it again!
What say you, FANs: did Polybius truly exist as a secret Government experiment that gave people serious health fits, or is it much ado about nothing?
Personally, I doubt it exists and I highly doubt the validity of Steven Roach's claims, but the picture of an alleged real cabinet from Instagram is interesting. Of course, when the Wikipedia picture for Polybius is a fan-created cabinet, it sort of makes you doubt that claim that it's an original cabinet and not a replica.
Fact or not, it's an interesting topic for sure, so how do you feel about it?

Didn't Battlezone have a similar rumor as far as gov't agents using it as a recruiting device?

I clicked on this thread with excitement because I thought we were going to be having a scholarly discussion about the Greek historian.
I am disappointed.

They put LSD on the joysticks. Simple as that.

I didn't know about Polybius at the time, so I didn't notice it in the movie. And it is right next to Battlezone!

I believe that it was just a malfunctioning version of Tempest. Someone got mad at it and hit the screen, knocking a wire or two out of place.

I knew the machines first showed up here in Portland so I wanted to watch the video and see if they mention what stores or areas they where in so I could go look for them but as soon as they pronounced Oregon wrong I turned it off
